Re: EVERQUEST GOES FREE-TO-PLAY
I hopped on last night. I can't use any of my gear. I could deal with not having all of the bag slots, shared bank, etc., but I functionally can't play without my gear and I'm sure as tits not going to farm new non-raid gear just to be able to kill mobs.

And I think someone mentioned this, but you can plug a wired one in without installing / downloading / buying anything, and you can probably get a used wired controller from Gamestop for about $20.

Bagar, are you getting the mouse lag that some people have been referring to? Apparently, there have been some issues with AMD cards causing video lag and scroll lag. I don't know if AMD has released a new driver yet or not, but NVidia had one out the day before that was designed for Skyrim adjustm...

Re: League of Legends
Been trying out a lot of new champs lately. My two new favorites are: Blitzcrank is an amazing melee champ - he's tough as hell with a decent healthpool and a sub-20% shield passive, his main ability is a skillshot grip that, if utilized well with a lane-mate, leads to some amazing ganks. He has ano...

Started working on Rag tonight. Got him into p3 in about three hours of attempts, and we were consistent with the first transition and getting most of the way through p2 by about halfway through the evening. I realize p3 is by far the hardest phase, but looks like we might get him next week.

Rhyolith video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1SAOJUbaEo I fucked up when I rendered this one - the quality is fine and everything, but the size of the video is too small. Re: Kill Videos
I've been playing much more casually this expansion. I lead a 10m team comprised mostly of friends, and we only raid about 7-9 hours a week (which I suppose seems like a lot, but is actually relatively casual, especially since I barely log on at all outside of raids). I haven't bothered to fraps any...
Re: Rift
So, picked up the game tonight. I rolled a mage and she rolled a cleric. We got up to about level 14 or so. Lots of fun. The rift events are a nice distraction from questing, and the quest chains seem to flow nicely. We ended up rolling on Arcanis, since we didn't want to sit in queue for Shadefalle...
Re: Rift
Looks like we're gonna pick this up. Guess we'll roll Defiant Shadefallen. How many actual CD folks are over there?
Re: Rift
Oh, another question - how 'intense' are the graphics? Obviously they're good, but can they be turned down to a fairly reasonable level? I have a pretty nice gaming rig, but my girlfriend would be playing on her shitty dell laptop if we did pick it up, and I'm not entirely sure how well it would run...
Re: Rift
I had read somewhere (awhile ago, so this may be completely incorrect) that every "class" could technically fill any "role" - i.e. that mages would have a tanking, damage dealing, and healing capability, as would rogues, clerics, and warriors.
Is that true?
Is that true?
Re: Rift
Thinking about picking this up. I read Winnow's thread, and ahve a decent idea of the UI, character creation, etc. - however I am curious about the actual gameplay. I'm mostly concerned with PVE - is it fairly challenging? How 'grindy' is it? Is there much group-based content? If so, what size group...

It's a good thing you posted his picture, because I had no idea what his name was, but he was a pretty seriously awesome actor. Most of his roles were pretty small - or at least the ones I've seen - but he always had a definitive presence on screen.

These aren't even close to WOTLK heroics. Not even in the same league. We were completing Wrath heroics the day we hit 80, still in our T6 epics. Herp derp wowkiller.
No but in all seriousness I'd welcome an MMO that can actually compete with WoW. Competition is the foundation of quality. As long as WoW sits on top the Devs have no particular reason to make substantial player-driven improvements.
