Is there any stance John McCain won't flip-flop on to win?
John McCain has flip-flopped on
Bush Tax Cuts
Roe v. Wade
Agents of intolerance
Deregulation (26 years of policy undone in 3 days?)
Immigration (he wouldn't vote for his own immigration bill!)
Even TORTURE! his signature issue.
He has sold out everything he has ever stood for, so is there really anything that he won't say to win the public's affection and win this election?

McCain flipping on de-regulation doesn't pass the laugh test and is a fair point to discuss. Is he abandoning his de-regulation position or is McCain trying to sell voters a bill of goods? He is sounding more like a dem this week than a repub.Soreali wrote:Jesus christ you're worse than the fucking commercials on a television!

I agree with you. But we're acting like this is the first time a politician has changed his stance on something to appease voters? You know what? Both Obama and McCain are lying through their fucking teeth. Thats how politics works. Granted I'm still voting for McCain I'll be more than happy to admit the fact that the guys a total bullshit artist. But hey, most politicians are. So what else is new?

Re: Is there any stance John McCain won't flip-flop on to win?
I like that a great deal better. I totally agree that politicians are liars, but I feel it is forced upon any political candidate due to our system. Did anyone happen to catch Tony Blair on The Daily Show last night? I think some of the things he said regarding the American political system were spot on. What I can remember was something like: "Well, our campaign process for Prime Minister takes 4 weeks. Yours takes 4 years?" With every vote/speech a candidate has ever done being readily available to the population, it is almost impossible for a candidate to legitimately change their views on an issue.Soreali wrote:Forthe wrote:McCain flipping on de-regulation doesn't pass the laugh test and is a fair point to discuss. Also, I think that since flip flopping was one of the primary attacked used against Kerry in the last election, it is only natural for Democrats to point it out any time McCain does it, especially with the whole "Original Maverick" thing.

Thing is, Kerry was the king of flip flopping. He's a fucking coward. He's no war hero.. And reading an article about him pointing out the bad things that happened in Vietnam and the far reaching ripple of effects afterward changes that how?
And for clarity.. I said nothing about him being weak minded. I simply pointed out that he changed his mind more frequently on more issues than anyone I have ever heard speak publicly. I won't even get into his complete inability to debate, which he covered up by constantly telling people to read his website, instead.
Re: Is there any stance John McCain won't flip-flop on to win?
Wait wait wait... serving on a Swiftboat in Vietnam is being a coward now? It's really great to know that spitting on somebody in a parking lot is the highlight of manliness, while leading a tin can up a river with people shooting at you with RPG's is the mark of a coward.Funkmasterr wrote:So I just read what you mentioned.. You really have no idea, do you. The monstrous step of going in front of Congress to testify and try to end the war means he's a coward? Hmm... sound pretty brave and heroic to me. Many things Kerry is, but a coward is not something you can pin on him (especially in his youth). When he was running for President he was quite a bit too timid, but that does not make him cowardly. Man you are a tool.

He tried to lie about the danger he was in to make himself look better, that is UNACCEPTABLE COMING FROM A SOLIDER of this country. TV scan? My father was in the Marines Recon in Vietnam. He had a medal pinned on his chest by President Nixon for saving a downed helicopter pilot while under enemy fire. He has the medal and the friends from the service to vouch for and prove it, not to mention the Christmas cards and letters that the guy he saved has sent him every year since then. That, is a hero. Not someone that lied about the danger they were in to try and make themselves look better in some way.

Re: Is there any stance John McCain won't flip-flop on to win?
The testimony by members of the ironically named "Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth" is hardly anything to take stock in. Rigorous investigations into the veracity of their claims showed countless inconsistencies in their portrayal of Kerry's conduct. Their version of events has been contradicted by many other military personnel that were present, as well as the official government records regarding the events in question. One of the swift boaters even admitted after the fact that, contrary to his own sworn affidavit, he had no first-hand knowledge of the events. You've proven time and time again that you're willing to believe any bullshit that happens to line up with your own goof-ball worldview, so your gullibility in this case is no great surprise, but it does shine a bright light on your idiocy yet again.

Sounds like the mindset of the "Obama OMG Muslim" folks.
"He aint white and Hussein is his middle name, sooooo just to be safe, he must be Al'Qaeda."
Just like the war in Iraqers
Just like the whole bush admin.
I mean seriously, check where the info comes from before you make up your mind. Swift Vote Veterans for truth was fully funded by Republicans looking to slander Kerry. It was one of the more shameful moments in politics, just like Bush's hose job on McCain in 2000.
McCain didn't like that for sure, but it appears he flip-flopped on that as well!

Re: Is there any stance John McCain won't flip-flop on to win?
McCain's best flip-flop to date:
9am- "The fundamentals of our economy are strong!"
11am-"We are facing the worst crisis since World War 2."
3pm-"I am donning my McSuper Cape and Mask to defend Washington. If I don't, credit will fail. The economy will collapse unless I can git to Wash'ton."
Poor John. I sort of feel bad for the old codger now, and how off base his advisers have turned him. Does anyone expect this ploy to work? Here's some meat for you to chew on. On Fox News website, 18% of poll respondents thought he was doing this to save the country. 82% thought it was a political ploy. Now, I know what you'll say, that liburools spammed the website to skew the results. Still, his attempt to be the action hero that saves the economy is hilarious, especially since it's just a gimmick to try and avoid the VP debates.
