This is how the first round of my 12 team draft went that I do with my old college buddies every year:

Round One

1 LaDainian Tomlinson (RB SD)
2 Adrian Peterson (RB MIN)
3 Steven Jackson (RB STL)
4 Joseph Addai (RB IND)
5 Tom Brady (QB NE)
6 Randy Moss (WR NE)
7 Marion Barber (RB DAL)
8 Brian Westbrook (RB PHI)
9 Peyton Manning (QB IND)
10 Clinton Portis (RB WAS)
11 Frank Gore (RB SF)
12 Larry Johnson (RB KC)

QBs have more value in our league (TDs worth 6 points) so that's why you see Brady and Manning going early. QBs can put up monster numbers in our league.

I picked #8 and was surprised Westbrook dropped. I'm also surprised LJ went in the first.

Round Two

13 Willis McGahee (RB BAL)
14 Ryan Grant (RB GB)
15 Terrell Owens (WR DAL)
16 Marshawn Lynch (RB BUF)
17 Tony Romo (QB DAL)
18 Drew Brees (QB NO)
19 Jamal Lewis (RB CLE)
20 Earnest Graham (RB TB)
21 Maurice Jones-Drew (RB JAC)
22 Reggie Wayne (WR IND)
23 Derek Anderson (QB CLE)
24 Braylon Edwards (WR CLE)

In the second round, I had targeted a second RB (Lynch, Ryan or McGahee) with the 17th pick but all three went before my turn so I took the last solid QB in Tony Romo (Brees as well but I have Romo rated higher)that I knew would put up big numbers and cried a little as my #2 RB was going to end up being Thomas Jones (ball hog Favre now on Jets, O-Line upgraded, TJones is not in RBBC, 300+ carries)

The RBs just kept falling off the board. Bastards.

Overall, Im ok with my draft but I really wish Lynch would have dropped one more spot to me to solidify my RB position. I would have picked up D. Anderson from Cleveland or something as my QB a couple rounds later and have been happy (well, I would have been screwed because D Anderson when 23rd, doh). I didn't feel value in taking Jamal Lewis, Earnest Graham or MJ Drew in the second but depending on how TJones does, I may regret it. Plus I have to root for the fucking Cowboys because I have Romo (QB), Witten (TE) and Folk (K) on my team along with hoping Marion Barber fractures a testicle to my reserve Felix Jones gets some playing time on a bye week.

So there's your players to avoid for this year's draft! Westbrook and Romo!

6th Round
62 Brett Favre (QB NYJ)

12th Round:
136 Aaron Rodgers (QB GB)

Rodgers in the 12th round looks like a great deal. The team that drafted P. Manning grabbed him as a backup. Favre is actually someone's primary QB.

Booo to auto-draft, Booo I say!

I'm hoping at least half of the league shows up for the draft...I'm really looking forward to it this year after getting stuck with an auto-draft team last season.

The board ate my first response about this earlier but:

I think I did something backwards in "cleaning up" my team. I removed a player before choosing one to add, and I now show that I have the replacement on a waiver until 08/26. I'm not sure what this means. Is that only because I went in reverse order (deleted then added), or is it something else? I replaced someone else the "normal" way, and it worked fine.

Right after the draft, all non drafted players go on the waiver wire for three days, which means, per drafting order, those that had a lower original draft pick in the first round (I think, didn't read the rules), have first shot at a waiver player. After three days, all undrafted players are free agents which can be picked up without waiting.

If someone else drops a player you want, that player goes on waivers for three days, allowing the team highest on the waiver list to pick them first. I think in this league, the waiver order is not reshuffled each week pending a teams's record. If you pick a player up off waivers, you fall to 10th on the waiver pick list and slowly work your way back up as others teams make pickups (or you can still get the player if the teams above you pass on the player)

Yes, you fucked up.

Add Jon Kitna to your team. I'll add McNabb to mine, and then we'll trade. It'll be a win/win.

I was dropping Young for Kitna, but this way you're guaranteed to get your QB back since I'll have the first pick of the waivers. I'm also pretty sure no one before you in the order wants Kitna.

McNabb is who I dropped. I have had worse luck with him than I had when I had Vick and Favre. I had Jeff Garcia on Waiver, but I canceled that. I added Kitna on Waiver for now Spang.

So, do you want McNabb back? You can't get him back mid-season, after he throws 5 TD's in an ugly, throwback uniform!

* Trade: You have proposed a trade to Noobtastics - [details]

Also, If this trade thing doesn't work, let's set up a time via PM to drop and add the players. I drop McNabb and add Kitna and vice versa.

I finally found the one line that Spang noted, and it is about as hidden as hidden could be. The email only told me that there was a proposed trade. There was no mention anywhere of how the hell to accept it. I have accepted it on my end, and I am not sure what happens now.

I don't care if you play in both personally. We have one spot open. I can draft as soon as that person shows up (or emails me when he is ready). There is a spot where you can tell it to count week 1 points. I will force through any waivers that people request if it won't let us before the first game. The draft always seems to stick you with some injured piece of crap or 3 kickers.

Ok, I signed up so you guys have 10 teams.

If anyone wants my spot in AFC just let me know and I can drop.

Too often it seems it is the peaceful and innocent who are slaughtered. In this a lesson may be found that it may not be prudential to be either too peaceful or too innocent. One does not survive with wolves by becoming a sheep.

Thanks Mak. Is everyone ready to draft? I am going to draft at 3PM CST unless I hear differently.

It is set up as auto-draft, correct? What will be needed from players to complete it?

Some people like to adjust their player rankings before the draft. I am mostly being polite by waiting but I can do it anytime.

I am going to hit the draft button at 2:20 CST. I am going home early and I may not get a chance to do the draft till late if I even remember.

I am in both leagues too, if someone wants the AFC spot let me know. Still shows no draft as of 5:20 PST.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon
