Sometimes it takes bias to give someone the impetus to investigate. Their findings, save their opinions, are still valid information. Have you ever heard of the judicial system? The judge has to listen to two very biased arguments mixed with facts, and make a judgment... He can't just dismiss either side because they're blatantly biased. We have to be able to do the same.

Although I'd prefer that Obama not use "uh" every time he pauses to consider his words, I greatly prefer someone who takes the time to consider what's about to come out of his mouth to someone that just says whatever stupid shit is bouncing around their empty head at the moment. On my list of things that I give a shit about, "uh" is pretty f'ing low.

Thing is. If McCain had stuck to his guns after getting cockplowed by the Bush campaign in 2000, he would have been a shoe-in.

People are ready for change. It is now where we take our opportunity to finally go against the status quo. No more doddering geriatics. We have enough of them in both House and Senate....and of course the Supreme Courrt. I am very proud that my country has made enough progress to overlook racial and sexual discriminations in our candidates. I just want to see it followed though.

Seems like a ho-hum pick for VP. Biden doesn't instill confidence and make up for the concern in Obamas' lack of experience just because he's old. And how is this helping with the hispanic vote.

I have no issue with Biden. All Democrats are too far to the right for me, but I've always thought Biden would make a pretty decent candidate for President. Unfortunately for him and everyone else this year, they ran up against the Clinton / Obama machines that sucked the life out of all other candidates.

I think it was obvious from yesterday's language that Biden was chosen for an attack dog + middle class\old white vote reassurance. It was the safe pick. I would have preferred he had more balls and chosen Hagel.

It is a bit weird that the Dem ticket looks like a bizarro version Bush\Cheney ticket of 2000.

I don't like that he picked someone who has been in the senate since 1973. I don't get a good vibe from Biden, and I don't think he meshes with Obamas desire to change the tone in Washington... People who can tolerate Biden just because they like Obama should seriously consider who is going to be in control here.

All I've ever seen from Biden is a man who has no problem calling "bullshit" on events as and when necessary. His criticism of the handling of the Iraq war has been fantastic, in comparison with the utter balllessness of most of the other senators.

No one ever votes for a President based on his VP so it's no big deal anyway. But to me, it's a perfectly reasonable choice.

I wouldn't agree with the disire to change Washington issue, Republicans seem to like Biden, Obama will need someone like that if he really wants to stop the bickering and start compromising.

The 35 years in the senate is a good point, although the fact that he has commuted back home for those 35 years is a pretty good story. The fact he has been there that long and hasn't used it to enrich himself is also a good point.

I can't wait till Biden says something politically incorrect i.e Obama being the first articulate, "clean", mainstream AA candidate or his 7-11 Indian accent line. I seriously doubt he can go 2 months without a slip.

That pick also alleviates the concern that we'll have another VP that's actually running the show behind the scenes.

Biden was my favorite candidate in the primaries. I think he's strong, level-headed, honest and has tons of experience. He's one of the few long-time senators that truly understands the governmental bureaucracy and knows how to get shit done in spite of it. He's also not a spineless bastard like 95% of senators/reprs (both parties) and speaks his mind in an effective way.

I'm excited to see how this all plays out.

All I know is the Dems made a drastic mistake nominating this guy that is defeatable in a year DEMS should win.....When the DEMS had Hillary that would of beat ANY Republican by 5-10 percentage points(Everyone KNOWS who Hillary is, OBAMA is about to be defined!!!!!!!).....I mean Dems have NO FREAKING startegical sense on a Presidental scale(please elect people like FDR, Truman, JFK). The Biden pick confirms there isn't going to be any revolution. Obama is steadily backing off the points that he used to beat Hilary, as much as I despise her, she'd have been a better pick. As I said a couple months ago, this is just more of the same in a different package.

The Insurers and Usurers will still be running the country when all is said and done. For change on the scale of what's needed we need a Kennedy or a Reagan to run the crusade, and I don't see any lurking in the bushes.

There isn't a lot of difference between their stories at this point.

I mean, for god's sake, he's the reason Zimmerman created PGP!

I live in this podunk, white trash, redneck town, and I have never seen another Barack Obama bumper sticker on an automobile, other than my own. A new semester of school started this past Monday, and I noticed that the closer I got to the educational facility, with educated people and people getting educated, I found more and more Barack Obama bumper stickers on the rear-ends of automobiles.
