Sometimes it takes bias to give someone the impetus to investigate. Their findings, save their opinions, are still valid information. Have you ever heard of the judicial system? The judge has to listen to two very biased arguments mixed with facts, and make a judgment... He can't just dismiss either side because they're blatantly biased. We have to be able to do the same.

The sad thing is I think on a lot of them he doesn't read them either beyond the headline and the first and last paragraph.

Although I'd prefer that Obama not use "uh" every time he pauses to consider his words, I greatly prefer someone who takes the time to consider what's about to come out of his mouth to someone that just says whatever stupid shit is bouncing around their empty head at the moment. On my list of things that I give a shit about, "uh" is pretty f'ing low.

Yeah, they put up that static image to save bandwidth, not to cover the massive amount of time they spent in editing the audio to make it sound worse than it is.
Not to mention, I find it *hillarious* that you class "audible pauses" as a big problem compared to the amount of Bushisms uttered by the current president.

wuwuwuwuwu!
Thing is. If McCain had stuck to his guns after getting cockplowed by the Bush campaign in 2000, he would have been a shoe-in.
People are ready for change. It is now where we take our opportunity to finally go against the status quo. No more doddering geriatics. We have enough of them in both House and Senate....and of course the Supreme Courrt. I am very proud that my country has made enough progress to overlook racial and sexual discriminations in our candidates. I just want to see it followed though.

McCain has an instant response using Bidens own words: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDVUPqoowf8&e
and this one I found on the McCain youtube page after watching the first one has a lot of obama snippets from the past 6 years... it's way too long (7:49) and a month old (7/17) but watchable. he's kind of all over the map and it's a little troubling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHEIi4XKRmM

Re: Obama WILL be the next president
Is Joe Biden supposed to say good things about the people he's running against at the time?
"I think Obama would be a much better president than me. You shouldn't vote for me! Vote for the other guys!"
It's strictly business. It's nothing personal.

The comment Biden made in that video about McCain is more damaging. (and some good video clip editing)
Seems like a ho-hum pick for VP. Biden doesn't instill confidence and make up for the concern in Obamas' lack of experience just because he's old. And how is this helping with the hispanic vote.

I have no issue with Biden. All Democrats are too far to the right for me, but I've always thought Biden would make a pretty decent candidate for President. Unfortunately for him and everyone else this year, they ran up against the Clinton / Obama machines that sucked the life out of all other candidates.

I think it was obvious from yesterday's language that Biden was chosen for an attack dog + middle class\old white vote reassurance. It was the safe pick. I would have preferred he had more balls and chosen Hagel.

I don't like that he picked someone who has been in the senate since 1973. I don't get a good vibe from Biden, and I don't think he meshes with Obamas desire to change the tone in Washington... People who can tolerate Biden just because they like Obama should seriously consider who is going to be in control here.

All I've ever seen from Biden is a man who has no problem calling "bullshit" on events as and when necessary. His criticism of the handling of the Iraq war has been fantastic, in comparison with the utter balllessness of most of the other senators.
No one ever votes for a President based on his VP so it's no big deal anyway. But to me, it's a perfectly reasonable choice.

I wouldn't agree with the disire to change Washington issue, Republicans seem to like Biden, Obama will need someone like that if he really wants to stop the bickering and start compromising.Fash wrote:I don't like that he picked someone who has been in the senate since 1973. The 35 years in the senate is a good point, although the fact that he has commuted back home for those 35 years is a pretty good story. The fact he has been there that long and hasn't used it to enrich himself is also a good point.
I can't wait till Biden says something politically incorrect i.e Obama being the first articulate, "clean", mainstream AA candidate or his 7-11 Indian accent line. I seriously doubt he can go 2 months without a slip.

McCain simply needs to pick a decent looking younger vp (for the portion of the females that vote with their eyes) that's also popular with the hispanics and he's a shoo-in.
I'm thinking Michael Phelps. Popular and young (female vote), and swims (wetback vote)
That pick also alleviates the concern that we'll have another VP that's actually running the show behind the scenes.

Biden was my favorite candidate in the primaries. I think he's strong, level-headed, honest and has tons of experience. He's one of the few long-time senators that truly understands the governmental bureaucracy and knows how to get shit done in spite of it. He's also not a spineless bastard like 95% of senators/reprs (both parties) and speaks his mind in an effective way.
I'm excited to see how this all plays out.

Hispanics are deeply rooted in their past and will remember when their backs were wet, giving any candidate associated with water a boost. It also won't hurt if the candidate has ten brothers and sisters living with them, along with their parents and a couple cousins.

Yeah, poorly produced propaganda videos from right-wing jesus nuts will hurt so baaaad. Puh-lease.
The fact that you blindly latch on to any and seemingly every nutty rumor from left field pretty much invalidates anything you have to say around here. You really are a fucking idiot. Stories from those videos will turn 1-5 millions voters minds Im just stating what will be a fact..
Xat. I am not saying I believe them, but its whats to come in the next several months. I don't like Obama personally, but its because inexperience not this other propaganda mess I know politics is BS and BS=Politcs on both sides. Im just stating whats to come for Obama and whats in the works. I maybe a idiot to your eyes but ohwell..I dont really care. I probally am the only one on this board to directly deal and run fundraisers etc. with presidential campaigns and to have met Presidents from Both parties. I know Politics is and its propaganda and BS to the sheeple...I know this first-hand.
Those videos will energize the base of the right wing to come out and vote....Also Mcain does well on Moderates and hes polling imbetween 21-48% of Hillarys supporters. (She had about 18million vote for her to Obamas 18 million)....Obama can not afford negative after negative after negative news thats lining up for him. I have about 5 other things I can list aswell as negative news for him.
All I know is the Dems made a drastic mistake nominating this guy that is defeatable in a year DEMS should win.....When the DEMS had Hillary that would of beat ANY Republican by 5-10 percentage points(Everyone KNOWS who Hillary is, OBAMA is about to be defined!!!!!!!).....I mean Dems have NO FREAKING startegical sense on a Presidental scale(please elect people like FDR, Truman, JFK). You know people half the country just doesnt puke about.

Re: Obama WILL be the next president
The Biden pick confirms there isn't going to be any revolution. Obama is steadily backing off the points that he used to beat Hilary, as much as I despise her, she'd have been a better pick. As I said a couple months ago, this is just more of the same in a different package.Fash wrote:I don't like that he picked someone who has been in the senate since 1973. The Insurers and Usurers will still be running the country when all is said and done. For change on the scale of what's needed we need a Kennedy or a Reagan to run the crusade, and I don't see any lurking in the bushes.
There isn't a lot of difference between their stories at this point.

I am not sure that I can vote for a ticket with Biden on it, after reviewing his stances regarding Technology/The Internet:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-10024 ... riesArea.0
Granted, Obama has pretty much the opposite views on all of those issues, but if a big part of the reason I chose not to vote for a McCain ticket was his views on these same issues, I do not feel I can vote for a ticket containing Biden. It mostly comes down to the fact that I view my vote as next to worthless, given the electoral college and the fact that PA goes democrat.
I mean, for god's sake, he's the reason Zimmerman created PGP!
Also, Sirton, I wasn't aware you had time to run fundraisers and meet with presidential candidates; I thought you would be too busy killing wildebeests in Africa to save starving villages.

Also, Sirton, I wasn't aware you had time to run fundraisers and meet with presidential candidates; I thought you would be too busy killing wildebeests in Africa to save starving villages.

Re: Obama WILL be the next president
I live in this podunk, white trash, redneck town, and I have never seen another Barack Obama bumper sticker on an automobile, other than my own. A new semester of school started this past Monday, and I noticed that the closer I got to the educational facility, with educated people and people getting educated, I found more and more Barack Obama bumper stickers on the rear-ends of automobiles.
It's just an observation!

That would mostly be because the younger crowd tends to be Democrat and the older people who actually HAVE money and worked to get their cash lean towards Republican because they don't want to give it away to non-working useless fuckstains who want to live on welfare....and we like killing brown people.

I know someone that will never be mistaken for an educated, intelligent person.
