Seriously, I saw that and thought "Sony is getting Gears of War 3?". Wait, that can't be right... Is it a new Rachet and Clank title or something?

Oh yeah, God of War.
I'll put money down now that God of War 3 will be cross platform.
It's developed, designed, and produced by Sony. You can fed ex the money to my work address.

He should probably stop contemplating suicide and get on with it already.

Someone should remind him that the first game in the series came out on the NES. That might just be the nudge he needs

Fat Princess looks to be the best game for the PS3 coming out of E3.

Apparently you go find cake in the forest and feed it to your captured princess, making her fatter and harder to carry off by the enemy.
The goal of Fat Princess is to recapture your princess/human-flag from the enemy castle’s dungeon. However, your enemy can fatten your princess up with cake, which magically grows around the castle in a forest, of course, and make her harder to haul home over the 10 maps that the game will offer. The princess will lose weight if not constantly fed, and the game will provide five character classes (workers, archers, mages, warriors and “deadly” priests, according to the press release) to help get the job done. Characters can change jobs at any time by simply wearing a different hat and, when attacked on the battlefield, bleed buckets of blood in a way that seems entirely disproportionate to their tiny, chibi-sized bodies

The game can be played online with a 32-player mode, which sounds more than a little hectic with all those teams scrambling across the map, and has an offline mode as well. And it sports crisp, colorful graphics, which look like they’ll lend to the games comical charisma well. (and I sense the possibility of another cake meme spawning from this game). No release date has been set, but check back with MyGamer for more details as the become available.

That is a 360/PC game only, so no PS3. I love zombies. Love them. The game looks like pure adrenaline.

This made my nervis huge... when is this coming out?

Square Enix: 360 FFXIII development hasn't begun

Director Motomu Toriyama and Tetsuya Nomura reveal they're focused the PS3 edition of the anticipated role-playing game--and haven't yet received dev kits from Microsoft.

By Hirohiko Niizumi, GameSpot
Posted Aug 2, 2008 3:10 pm PT

TOKYO--Today at its DK Sigma3173 Event, Square Enix made a series of announcements, including revealing the March release of a Final Fantasy XIII demo. However, those on hand were also impressed by a video shot by series designer Tetsuya Nomura which offered some raw behind-the-scenes insights into the game's development.

The video started off with an inside look at Square Enix's internal studio and its overall development environment. However, the scene quickly switched to a meeting where developers spoke bluntly about Final Fantasy XIII in general--and the Xbox 360 version in particular. The game's announcement was a major surprise at the E3 Media & Business Summit last month, where producer Yoshinori Kitase held a roundtable--but left many questions unanswered.

In the video, director Motomu Toriyama didn't beat around the bush when Nomura asked him questions about the 360 FFXIII. Starting off, he reconfirmed that, "We haven't changed the direction of the development. We're making the PS3 version first, and then porting to the 360 later." That means that since the game will be released simultaneously on both platforms in North America and Europe, the PS3 release will be held back in those territories until the 360 version is complete.
Man, it's going to be a long long time before we see FFXIII on PS3 or 360 outside of Japan if they haven't even started the 360 version yet.

Exactly, there are a ton of games.

That is a little disappointing though for everyone considering they are supposed to be a simultaneous release.

The only game that I would really like to try that I won't get a chance is Little Big Planet.

Potentially, it looks like it could be fun if the community comes through with quality levels.

This guy seems to think the LBP editor isn't going to be that easy:
At this point, I’ve seen and heard enough about LittleBigPlanet that I feel as though the game isn’t even real and that it’s never actually coming out. Thankfully, Sony brought along their first-party titles for us New Yorkers to try out and I can confirm that the game does in fact exist and will be coming out this fall. But after finally getting my hands on it, I think I’m going to have to turn down my hype meter just a bit.

When I got my hands on the controller and got booted up to the LittleBigPlanet title screen, the first thing I wanted to do was to make stuff. I think I’ve seen enough the gameplay from finished levels to know how it’ll work when it’s put together, but I felt since I didn’t have a whole lot of time, I wanted to dig deeper in the creation tools.

Without any real tutorial of the controls, I just started messing around. The first thing I popped in the environment was a sombrero. OK, easy. But the Sony rep and I decided we wanted to give the sombrero wheels and drive it off a ramp. Now this is when things started to get a little harder.

I think something that’s being overlooked with this game is the learning curve. I found it to be very overwhelming.

If you wanted to build a sombrero car, you have to attach it to a piece of wood (or something flat). But since the sombrero is two blocks long in width, you have to make sure your surface is just as long or it won’t let you do it. And if you’re not completely familiar with the system like I was, it’s easy to get stuck and frustrated when something doesn’t work.

So we finally got the hat on the piece of wood and I put some wheels on. But then since the hat is light, we had to make sure it’s glued down or it will blow off. Then we had to add two motors (one for each wheel) and manually go in and alter the settings to adjust the speed of the car.

I don’t know how long it took for me to build that sombrero car, but it took a lot longer than I thought it would, and it didn’t even look like something I wanted to save and share with my friends. We never did get a chance to drive it off a ramp both because I had to go, and the ramp itself wasn’t even done. :(

We also tried to attach one wheel to a can of tuna, which was dubbed the “Tuna Cycle,” but it didn’t work.

Granted, this was my first time with the game, but isn’t this supposed to be accessible? I had an easier time with SOCOM from earlier in the day. The Sony rep did mention there would be a full tutorial of the controls in the final version, which is probably the one feature I’m most excited about.
This might not be a big deal. He may just suck at level design and we'll see some fun levels but it will take a little higher skill than Sony claims to make a level.

It'll be just like every other game with editing tools/level editor.

A LOT of it will suck, 3-5% of the content will be decent and 1% of it will be good. The big draw here will be the ease of sharing with other people.

Also like everything else, making something worthwhile will take a lot of work.

New 360 Dash will allow HD installs:

http://kotaku.com/5035240/new-xbox-dash ... tion-shown

Nice. If/when I do get a new 360, I'll get one with a large HD. Would be nice to install all 3-5 (or whatever) FFXIII disks to the hard drive, thus avoiding the disk swap.

Still need to have disk in drive to verify it's a real (or hacked) game but then it runs completely from the HD so less noise, etc.
