Have you ever been arrested? (OR TAZED?)

Post by Neziroth »

Just curious what percentage of our members are ex-cons :D

I have an "almost been arrested" story that's so ridiculous that I know I'm going to catch shit for it but here it goes anyhow.

------

Me and some buddies were 16 (I'm 22 now), and we got our hands on a 24pk of beer somehow and we were drinking for one of our first times ever. (don't all good stories start that way?)

So, we're sitting around thinking we're so cool, pretty drunk off of our 4 or so beers (lol) -- his parents are out of town -- and we decide to call another friend and get him over there. Only two of us had cell phones and we used mine to call him at his house. If you dial *67 it comes up anonymous on caller ID, I dunno why we did that, I think we were going to mess with him for a while or something.

Anyhow, we call and his mom answers. His mom was always a real bitchy woman, like, just miserable. So we ask for him and she says he's not home and she's already getting mad and telling me not to yell into the phone and all that. I happen to be the one on the phone, and I decide to mess with her instead. (dumb)

I go on to tell her that I'm driving and that I just got a hang-up call from her number. I tell her that when I answered the hang-up call that I got pulled over for talking on my cell phone and that I want to know who called me from that number.

She says nobody called and that she's on the phone with her boyfriend and that I need to stop yelling at her. I give her a hard time for a while, saying things like "It musta been one of your snot-nosed little brat kids playing with the phone," and such. We argue.

I tell her that she should pay my fine because it's her fault. She's freaking out screaming at me now. It's all too easy. She doesn't hang up, she keeps going along with it.

She tells me that she's going to call the police and (here's my big mistake) I tell her that the cop's walking back up to the car and she can go ahead and talk to him. I slide the phone across the table to my buddy and he picks it up. I figure even if she calls the police they won't do anything for a prank call anyhow, plus I dialed *67 so I'm safe anyhow.

He tells her, and I quote: "My goddamn uniform pants are too tight and I don't want to hear it." and he hangs up. We all laugh, and eventually I ride my bicycle back to my house (2ish miles?). I got home at about 1:30 am.

Around 2, I'm talking to another friend online who happens to live down the road from the woman we pranked, and he says the cops are there. I tell him he's full of shit thinking my friends are getting him to mess with me and I go to bed.

Then I see red lights flashing on my wall. I look out the window and there's a police car in front of my house. I try to get dressed as quick as I can so I get to the door before my parents get woken up, but it's no good. I'm putting on a pair of pants when I hear pounding at the door.

I'm putting on a shirt when my dad opens the door to my room and asks what the hell I did. I explain it quickly on the way down the stairs to the door and he tells me I'm a moron. (duh)

I open the front door and am greeted by a 20 something sheriff who's a chick, and a hot one at that. Even more embarassing.

She says "Are you Brian?" and I say I am.

She reads me my rights in front of my dad. That's a fun experience. She asks if I know why she's there and I say that I have a good idea. She tells me it's for a "harassing phonecall" and asks who else was involved. I refuse to tell her. She names two of the people who were there and I say nothing.

She asks which one of them I handed the phone to when the lady asked to speak with the cop, and again I refuse to say.

We go inside and I read the statement of the woman who called the cops, in which she said I threatened to "Kick her fucking ass" and "Make her pay one way or another" both of which I never said.

She also says that when the phone was handed to the cop that they had a 5 or so minute long conversation about the issue. I don't remember the details.

She tells me she's going to take me for mug shots and fingerprinting and she pulls handcuffs off of her belt, and asks if I want to make a statement before we go. My dad's sitting across the table while we talk.

I make a statement and deny making the threats and tell her the entire story, minus the beer. I cooperate with her completely, and eventually she talks to my father, shakes our hands and leaves, not taking me with her.

My dad goes to bed without saying a word and I do too. A few days later my dad tells me that she said nothing would likely come of it, and that that lady overreactes and calls the police at least twice a month for stupid things. (speeding traffic, loud music, kids walking by late at night, etc) and that I should stay away from her from now on or else I'll be arrested for aggravated harassment.

Nothing ever came of it, and oddly enough her son -- the friend we were calling -- never mentioned it to us, and we never mentioned it to him.

That's my story and that's the closest I've ever come to being arrested. Looking back, I think it was mostly just an attempt to scare me and teach me a lesson.

Next!

Uh, back when I was like seventeen my friends dog got out and I went outside to go grab him and bring him back in. Of course, I still had a 3/4 full beer in my hand while doing it. I get the dog and as I'm about to go inside a cop car drives by. He then proceeds to notice that I'm probably to young to be drinking, So he pulls over and puts me in the back seat and starts asking me questions like, have id? etc. and starts giving me a hard time. I decide the best course of action is to remain really calm and make him believe that I was just this really chilled out / not horribly tanked drunk guy (as opposed to the usual rowdy drunk I am). So he took my information down and told me to pour the beer out on the sidewalk and drives off.

Thats the closest I've ever been. :~

Freshman year of college, its a Wednesday night but I was an alcoholic so I was drinking anyway. Spent the night party hopping (people party on the weekends and Wednesdays mostly here) and going crazy. Near the end of the night all the parties ending so I take about 5 of my friends back to my apartment for more drinking games. Its around 2 AM so we still are going full steam. We sit around playing "Presidents and Assholes" for a bit, and have some music on (bass turned off, not that loud). I've had like probably 20-25 beers at this point and a few shots and I weigh around 140-145 lbs.

Anyway, I hear a knock at the door and go to open it, expecting another friend who is coming to pick up all the drunks and take them home...well it wasn't him. It was a cop, who I mistakenly thought was a security officer from my complex. He tells me there was a noise complaint by the one of the girls downstairs (a 300 lb black girl who later told me she called them because she was afraid if she came up there and asked to turn it down we may try to hurt or rape her). I immediately apologize and run to turn off my music. When I get back he starts asking all sorts of questions, how much I've had to drink, how old I am, why we are still up, etc. This is where I screwed up, I should have just not told him anything about me, just said I didn't have class the next day and I was sorry but that I was about to go to bed...instead I told him I had a few beers (I was obviously hammered), that I was 22 and couldn't find my ID but I gave him a good birth date to go along with it, and that I didn't have school the next day so I didn't care to go to bed.

Well after a few minutes he figures out that I am not 22, I was 18 and he comes into my apartment and arrests me. My friends are all hiding in the bathrooms, so he calls them all out and says anyone he has to go searching for will be arrested. They all come out and he lets them go, along with the 22 year old girl that was there, and takes me out to the car. I keep expecting him to let me out of the car and tell me I need to watch myself and don't let it happen again. He keeps joking around with another officer and even talks about going home to take some nyquill and go to sleep. Next thing I know he hops in and off to jail we went. I don't remember much about being there, I passed out shortly after getting into the cell and woke up when it was time to leave but it fucking sucked. Ended up costing me around $2000 and 40 hours of community service.

Later, talking with my lawyer, it seems that he arrested me illegally as he was not suppose to come into my apartment without my permission as he could not know for sure that I had did anything wrong, but because the only people that saw how I was arrested it was his word against mine and in his report he put that I came outside of my apartment to talk to him and he arrested me there. Bullshit, I wasn't about to step out of that door without him forcing me. Oh well, live and learn I guess. 10 months till I'm 21!

Which way do you mean? That an increasing number of threads are asking for personal information?... or are you talking about a common theme of the posters?

He's talking about the posters, I would bet. He is pointing out that we are all self admitted pot smoking criminal scumbags. He must feel really clever for pointing that out though.

I spent a night in jail for Drunk and Disorderly. I wasn't drunk but I guess I was disorderly. One of the few bar fights I was involved in. Not arrested though. I like Pie.

Well excuse me for not reading your mind correctly, when it comes to VV I just assume everyone is being an asshole that makes any comment that could possibly be interpreted as so, it works out most of the time.

Has anyone killed someone and gotten away with it? Multiple murders?

Love these questions that have been presented to the board recently!

I was technically arrested and charged for a white collar crime about 9 years ago, though I was never cuffed or brought to the station. I participated in 'pre-trial diversion' and everything was dropped and sealed afterwards. I always suspected I had some sort of guardian angel looking out for me because I was no longer a minor and they did not have to offer me a sweet deal like they did... I certainly learned my lesson though.
