Also, from checking the tailsection.com, everyone's money is on Charlie dying. We know Desmond ends up down in the Looking Glass with Charlie, then Mikhail shows up somehow, and there's a fight. My money is either on Desmond lying, or Charlie really is going to die. Remember, Desmond said Charlie was going to flip the switch and then he'd drown. He lived because he hasn't switched it yet.
I don't watch Lost anymore but I heard an interview with one of actors on the radio today (Michael Emerson/Ben), guy said this season's finale today will be bloody and we're gonna say good bye to a few characters we've known for a really long time, sounded like some folks who've been there from season 1 at least.
he also said to pay attention to last scene and last words spoken, it will make you rewind and check if you really heard what you thought you heard

Yes. If that was the future, how was his father still alive?
We were meant to believe that it was in the past, up until the end. That's when it clicked that it was the future. So how was his father alive?
Time to check all the other sites, they'll have to scoop.
Charlie will be coming back. The timeline and how events may not move at normal time will be central in the upcoming days. Desmond has already shown his ability to alter time. Something is going to happen where events change the course of what transpired after they left the island.

Yeah he could have shut the door - or swam out the window. I think his death was uncalled for.Lynks wrote:I think they killed him off just for the sake of killing someone off...and that makes me mad. A normal person would of exited the room THEN shut the door not stay inside. Totally unnecessary.
The ending however had me going WTF. Especially since Jack made several comments about his father.

jack made two comments about his father.. one in the hospital when he was hopped up on oxy and drunk (so possible crazy ranting) the other when he was trying to fill his prescription and the nurse was going to call his dad and jack told her "well just forget it then"
I think the two scenarios leave room for speculation whether or not jack's dad is in fact alive.
then there's my whole theory of there being alternate realities and time travelling that I won't even go into ;p
good end of season.. I'll have to put lost out of my mind for a few months now so I don't go crazy

It is time travel. The only way they can "go back" to the island is if they travel back in time to get there.
(Just my speculation)
John Locke is Jacob and he needs help because things didn't work out the way they were supposed to. Kate was married to Sawyer and that's why she couldn't talk to Jack.
If they are going to time travel or find out info about the island, the one person they could talk to would be Ben. And guess who's funeral was just held? Ben's. They won't be getting any easy answers out of him in the future time, that's for sure. That's why no one was at the funeral; no one mourned his passing.
I think the next season or two is going to be flash forwards, to see how people's lives turned out after they left the island. I don't think we'll be seeing too many flashbacks anymore; instead we'll see how shitty people's lives turned out since they left the island at the wrong time.
We'll be seeing how things happened after the radio transmission all the way to rescue, and then the future will be about the castaways getting back together and figuring out a way to get back to the island.
P.S. Charlie will be back. He is too integral to Claire's story; he'll be back once they figure out how to correct the timeline.
I am so excited for January!

You forget that his dying fulfilled Desmond's prophecy and that he wanted to die so that Claire and the baby could be rescued. Sure he could have gone out of the door and then closed and locked it, but that would have defeated the whole purpose for why he went down to the Looking Glass in the first place. He had already accepted his fate.Akanae wrote:Yeah he could have shut the door - or swam out the window. I think it was Locke's funeral personally. Jack wouldn't have been so upset over Ben's death. There's no one in Locke's life who would have show up at his funeral. Locke was pretty much hated by the group for joining the others, and killing Naomi to prevent her for calling for help only worsened their impression of him. So its perfectly understandable why Kate acted the way she did when his death came up. Jack putting his hand on the coffin was a sign of his regret for not trusting Locke. He in effect was saying "You were right." Jack would never have been upset over Ben's death even if Ben was right about whatever it is that happened, not after all Ben did. Despite their ongoing power struggle, Locke and Jack recognized each other as "good men," and they always had a connection. Ben was an evil fuck and even when Jack was caring for him medically, he never seemed very friendly to Ben.
Gonna be hard waiting til next season. Nice to see Walt, even if it was just his form. Charlie's death can be reversed! I believe it!

It could be a different time line, kinda like that Star Trek TNG episode, where Locke is Jacob and the guy that died. If this is true, this could be the second time they live through this. Something big could of happened where Locke was still alive and went back in time to try and change things (Jacob). This time line could of went wrong once again but people made it off the island and then Locke dies.Kaldaur wrote:Ahh, good call. I didn't think that it could have been Locke.
The only thing I can think in reply is that if Jacob is Locke, how would he have returned to the real world? Isn't Jacob trapped on the island? This is of course assuming that Jacob is Locke, which is a stretch so far.
This could explain finding people dead in the plane and how Desmond can see into the future since he already lived through it once.
Just a crazy theory though.

Re: Lost
I loved the show's layout in the first three seasons. The flashbacks were a golden opportunity for us to get to know the characters and the troubles they had in their lives. This gave us a sense of who they are and it made us care about them. I think Dregor and I had a discussion earlier in this thread about how the "extra" episodes were or were not contributing to the story line. I think now, with the introduction of flash forwards, we've accepted that we've learned as much as we need to about these characters and their troubles. Now, it's time to start focusing on the end game and looking to the future so we can see what happened afterwards. Like Dregor said, we know enough about these characters now to already feel the things we do. Now it's time to find some resolution.

Re: Lost
This show makes me wish I could be a television writer and sit in a room all day, thinking up new ways to make my fans pull out their hair in frustration/love for the show.
I think Season 3's finale will revitalize the show and give it some new direction. I, for one, am interested to see which direction they're going to take the new flash-forwards.
I think we only have one or two years before Charlie comes back

Re: Lost
ROFL! From the spoof wikipedia site Uncyclopedia:
LOL:
More at http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Lost_%28TV_series%29 Funny stuff!Lost is actually named after the state of mind one finds themself in when watching the television comedy LOST.
Watching Lost creates a Lost factor, which creates Lost fanboys and fangirls, the latter being obssessed with the Sawyer. Watching too many episodes of Lost will result in another factor, a sub-factor of the Lost factor, called Lost Interest.
The TV show itself focuses on 42 people on Monkey Island looking for/running from polar bears, Udders, falling planes, holes in the ground, giant magnets, and each other.
Lovable yet evil Vincent is the main character, who is slowly but surely killing off the rest of the cast. It is yet to be revealed how he does this. The series creators have, though, dropped clues that it has something to do with ranch dressing.
He is accompanied by funny-man Hurley who is looking to spend his fortune made from selling exotic kittens. Also on the island is Charlie Hobbiton, who is searching for the one hatch of POWER. Sex symbol and highly adored Kate is a psychopathic serial killer, with an inexplicable lust for toy airplanes. She is also at the centre of the island's infamous love tetrahedron™, which includes most the cast, including Sawyer, Jack, Claire, Sun, Sayid, Wilson and Vincent. Locke is also a relevant character who hasn't died yet.
The show is currently in its third season, and is watched by over 10 people worldwide, making it one of the most popular TV shows in the world, ever. It has already been picked up by the XYZ network for 108 more seasons, which the writers claim is the minimum required to completely cover their whole story.
Many wonder where the writers get all their ideas from, though the evidence points to the several tons of crack that get delivered to their offices each month.
LOL:
Elsewhere, down in that weird hatch, Desmond is suspicious that, perhaps, Charlie was not able to complete the necessary mission of drowning himself and so goes down to investigate. There, he finds Charlie being raped once again, so he decides to perv in the cupboard. Just then, Mikhail appears from the water, having drowned, but not at "lethal depth". Charlie then makes a statement about signal jamming that confuses viewers, writers, actors etc., which sends Mikhail crazy. He decides to kill everyone, but Desmond shoots him with the harpoon gun he happened to be carrying.

Re: Lost
I thought it was in this thread somewhere, but I remember reading an article a while back that ABC had committed to 3 more 15-18 episode seasons (I forget exactly what, I want to say I heard 48-55 more episodes). Each of those seasons will be starting in January of the next 3 years, and run without interruption until the season is done. The creators/writers said something about having an endpoint in mind and being able to completely tell the story in those episodes.
/edit: here is the info I was referencing.
/edit: here is the info I was referencing.
More to the article at the link provided. In a potentially paradigm-shifting play, ABC has agreed to let the producers of "Lost" set an expiration date for the series -- three years in the future.
Skein will now wrap after the production of 48 additional episodes that will be divided into three, shortened 16-episode seasons. Final episode -- the show's 119th -- will air during the 2009-10 season.
In conjunction with the advance order, "Lost" showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse have inked hefty new multi-year overall deals with ABC Television Studio to continue with the series until the end. Duo had made setting a wrap date for the show a condition for staying.
Lindelof and Cuse had wanted "Lost" to end after two more seasons. They're essentially still getting their wish: The 48 episodes they'll produce over the next three years is the same number the show produced during its first two seasons.
ABC execs, however, came up with a way to keep "Lost" on its sked for three more seasons. What's more, the 16-episode arcs will run without repeats (a la "24"), allowing the Alphabet to make the show more of an event.
"In considering the powerful storytelling of 'Lost,' we felt this was the only way to give it a proper creative conclusion," ABC Entertainment prexy Steve McPherson said.
