What's a show that you do like? How far did it get in the first three episodes?
There's very little on TV that I would consider wasting my time watching. Random sitcoms or dramas that I can sit and watch and be entertained for 30 or 60 minutes is all I ask for.
Tried to watch an episode of Lost and couldn't stand it.... I had no idea what was going on. I've seen a few episodes of Prison Break and Grey's Anatomy which weren't too bad. Tried to watch that Brothers and Sisters show and it was right fucking terrible. The Amazing Race and Dancing With the Stars are entertaining. I like Battlestar Galactica.
I have enough routine in my life that I don't want to have my evenings (or even a part of an evening) revolve around what is on television. I've seen season 1 of 24 on DVD and I really liked it, but I can't comit to watching it at the same time every week for fear of missing an episode and knowing what the fuck is going on.
If I happen to find myself in front of a TV, I flip around to see if anything interesting is on. If I don't find anything, I go do something else. I don't have time shifting, PVR or on demand TV. No point in wasting money on something I can apparently do without.
I think it's a pretty decent amount of storyline for 3 episodes.
That's like 2 hours and 15 minutes of television.... There are movies that have told much better and more involved stories in the same amount of time and have had more character development.
I guess the bottom line is that soap opera or serial type programs just doesn't appeal to me.
I prefer series that have stand-alone episodes. Heroes is obviously not going to be that kind of show.
