Soon we will no longer refer to the internet as "the internet". Soon we will just call it "Google".

Youtube is already quite active in removing copyright material from their site.Funkmasterr wrote:Except for Google will be more apt to give in to the requests of the media giants when they say to remove something, not to mention editing what is on the site. That alone will kill youtube.
The posting of illegal and/or copyright infringing material is not what drives youtube. So even if google is more active in removing offending material, it won't have a noticeable impact.

Seems to me like that is exactly what runs YouTube. Everytime I have a link sent to me from someone to look at something there its of a movie trailer/interview or something else that probably shouldn't legally be there.miir wrote:Youtube is already quite active in removing copyright material from their site.Funkmasterr wrote:Except for Google will be more apt to give in to the requests of the media giants when they say to remove something, not to mention editing what is on the site. I think YouTube, and Google for that matter, come under the loophole that protects ISPs from being sued because their customers decide to put up a web page with copyright/pedophilic/terrorist content.Funkmasterr wrote:Seems to me like that is exactly what runs YouTube. We'll see how long that will last now that there's someone who actually has money to be sued on the board.
