Who cares.
There's tons of shit that happens every hour of every day everywhere on that planet that's way fucking worse than the media circus surrounding this idiot.

I understood it just fine.

This whacko was just looking for some attention. The media should be held responsible for dragging it back up... or maybe the american public should be repsonsible for their freakish fascination with this.

The guy will be charged... probably with obstruction of justice... along with those kiddie porn charges. My point was that this guy deserves no fucking more attention.

A bizzaro assault charge would just give the media more shit to report about the case... in turn dragging more shit back up.

The american "public" as you put it, doesn't fucking give a shit. I'll give you the retarded media circus however.

I entirely disagree. If the American public didn't give a shit, there'd be no money in the media's overreporting of the story, and they wouldn't do it. The National Enquirer still runs headlines about JonBenet ten years after the fact because people buy that trash. Fox News runs segments on her because people watch them and they sell ads.

You and I might not give a shit, but enough of the public does to make pushing the story profitable.

I view it as a kind of a chicken/egg scenario. While it's true that they wouldn't report on it if it didn't sell, I think it also sells because the herd was inundated with the news at the beginning and now is conditioned to believe that it is important news.

As an aside, I think that if John Mark Carr confessed and didn't do it, he should still have to keep the real killer's cell warm until they catch him. It's only fair.

Thailand doesn't want him. That's why they were so eager to extradite him.

Colorado should borrow one of those reed canes and spank the fuck out of him though. And then cane that dumb ass DA that extradited him on such spurious evidence and started this stupid fucking media circus all over again.

Judge throws out Karr child porn case

POSTED: 5:20 p.m. EDT, October 5, 2006

SANTA ROSA, California (AP) -- A judge dismissed child pornography charges Thursday against former JonBenet Ramsey murder suspect John Mark Karr after prosecutors said they didn't have enough evidence to take the case to trial.

Sonoma County Superior Court Judge Rene Chouteau ordered Karr released immediately.

So ended Karr's strange, bringing two-month odyssey through the U.S. criminal justice system. It began when he was extradited from Thailand on suspicion of killing the 6-year-old beauty queen.

Karr, 41, was returned to California last month to face the five-year-old pornography case after DNA evidence cleared him of killing the girl in her Boulder, Colorado, home in 1996.

The pornography case fell apart almost as quickly, as investigators admitted losing vital computer evidence that was seized from Karr in April 2001 when he was working as a substitute teacher in Sonoma and Napa counties.
