Cataloging My CD Collection

Post by Tyek »

Since I am sitting on my ass for 8 weeks I decided to take this project on. I did some searching and found a program called OrangeCD. So far I love it, you put the CD in and it identifies it immediately and adds it to your collection. Has anyone tried this program before? I am on the 30 day trial and I think I am going this route, but if someone thinks there are better prgrams let me know. I have about 3000-3500 Cds, tapes and Lp's to imput.

I also got a early Bday/Get well gift from the Boss and my wife. They split the cost of a 30gb Video IPOD so while I am cataloging, I can add the songs I like to my IPOD. At least I have something to do now!

Thanks in advance for any ideas on the cataloging

The Only thing about that is that it looks like you have to upload all your music to MP3 formats, some CD's I just want to identify the CD then place it back in my collection. I will check it out though, thanks

I use a db program from http://www.collectorz.com. It allows me to enter in the UPC code on the CD case and it then searches and loads all the pertinent info. It even grabs the cover art as well. The must have accessory is their barcode scanner. Get the one they have on their site as it is integrated into the program. I can't live without this program now.

I use their program for my books and DVD's as well. It is invaluable.

Yeah, Collectorz software kicks ass. I use their movie program. It's great. It also downloads the movie covers too as well as movie information from sites like imdb.com.
