Heh, to expound on Truant's quote: My cousin was diagnosed with a malignant tumor(cancer) about two weeks ago. He was scheduled for surgery last Friday, so I visited him earlier that week.

Anyways, the funny: While I was there, he put a bit of Skoal in his mouth, and I was all "Maybe you should think about stopping that." His response: "What the fuck for? Shit, I've already got cancer."

I thought it was pretty funny. Humor is always the best way to view things in my opinion.

I know a few women that have been raped...

Only one jokes about it, and she jokes about it a lot. She's not embarassed or ashamed of herself or her past. Shit happens, and you either get over it or you allow it to destroy you.

I guess it is her way of dealing with it. This happened to her when she was 16, and now she is almost 40. After that many years, I guess you adjust to what is comfortable to you. And yes, to answer your question, she is just fine with other people joking about rape. If I had her email address I'd forward this to her so she could get a good laugh. And she certaily would laugh.
