Some people might find this amusing, Part 2

Post by Jice Virago »

Check this out.

Evidently after hitting up the rangers for beer money, engagement rings, and huge amounts of cash to run the glade, Sunmoon still needs more bling bling. The ranger reaction was considerably more mellow than the Shaman one, apparently. I wonder what other long running class sites are going to get bought up for spam email lists?
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .

Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."

Basically its Sunmoon telling the board that hes getting buy out and advertisement offers from Yantis and IGE. He also basically says he intends to take the best offer. This is particularly funny in his case because he has in the past solicited for donations constantly and even asked the community to pitch in for his engagement ring. Its also sad because its more community boards being eaten up by Yantis. Thank god SK.org got out from under $unmoon's thumb.

It's about halfway down the page Voro. He mentions Yantis and IGE by name.

Where does he say he intends to take the best offer? He asked the community if they would mind the ads, and then later said he was strongly leaning against it.

Makes you wonder where the hell yantis pulls out all this money from, it cant all be soley cash made from eq sales, not even when the exploit was still in effect.. he'd have to be having a stable of scammers to be able to keep the cashflow comming like that.

If I ran any boards and had to put up with any bitching, etc. I would just shut that shit down and let folks make their own board. Cut the guy some slack...

I'm too lazy to spell properly, couldn't imagine running a board.

I couldn't imagine being a drunk Debutant at a biker rally either, but kinda want to be.

there have been for a long time 2 major druid sites, the sucky one sold out to Yantis, I do not think the "better" site ever will. So in my mind druids have not sold out!

There was a thread about advertising involvement on the Steel Warrior too. It was closed but the way it was leading, most people seemed in favour of keeping Paypal donations over letting Yantis et al in.

I guess in the end, if people feel strongly about it, whats is to stop them from moving off a site and starting a new one (sorta like teh fnord did here) if the mods do sell out?
