If you just want to extract the ISO/CUE files but not burn them to a CD, WinISO is pretty useful. I have a burner now so I usually just burn the stuff.

Then after checking it out I of course destroy the discs and uninstall the software.

Daemon Tools is great if you have no burner... I use it just to save time even though I have a burner.

And Aranuil - I typed that in. What next? :P

I tried that, but it said:

Your system detected an Unresolved Host name while attempting to resolve the host specified in the requested URL.

What's next?

I think I'll just format c: /u and set myself FREE!

It's a frustrating system, knowing it can in theory go really fast but you're jumping for joy if it goes up to 10kb/s. New to this, so meh, the supernova links were the only ones that worked.

It's good if you don't need something in a hurry. I've gotten things that took over 24 hours to get. But I just minimize the window and let it do its thing.

As long as the file is still seeded, it resumes just fine.... It has to be the exact file though..

If a file takes an extraordinarily long time, I usually kill the DL and start again like overnight or whatever...if it is a popular file, it will usually still be seeded (re: Kill Bill, etc...)..

Over a day now.. Up to 57%! 1.8gb files are pokey.

Took about:

36 hours for 'Dawn of the Dead' and around 50 for 'Kill Bill'... sometimes, it is just slow... Seemed like more of my bandwidth went to UL as opposed to DL.

Ok.. I keep getting this error message now on almost everything I try:

Problem connecting to tracker - <urlopen error (10061, 'Connection refused')>

It's getting very frustrating!

If it gives that error and still says 'Connecting to Peers' you should still be ok unless you see no activity for UL or DL. When it gets a tracking error, it tries to reconnect (I am pretty sure). If it keeps erroring out with no link activity, it may be improperly seeded is my guess.

Ok, I have the WinISO and a couple of other tools, but I cannot convert BIN files to ISO because the only program that does it is WinISO, but only if you pay the fee to register it...Is there a freeware program that can convert BIN to ISO files?

edit: nm found a crack for it

Just curious... But why do you need to convert 'bin' to 'iso'?

I'm not sure if I've posted it in this thread yet, but you can convert bin/cue files to mpeg using VCD Tools.

Which client is everyone using?

I was using Shadow's experimental client\BitTornado until I tried out Azureus. I'm not a big fan of Java apps in general but this client is very nicely done.

I use Azureus too. Much more flexible then the Experimental client. Lots of stats and features.

I tried this Bit Torrent stuff awhile ago and it seemed slow and hard to find anything. Has it improved? Azureus has a nice layout and looks cool but how easy is it to find new movies, games, anime, etc?

ODC DC++ has been working great for me when I need specific anime titles or I need a rare app such as Theater Tek which you almost never find anywhere to download.

Is there a good search engine for Bit Torrent files and is it more for just the most recent and popular files that many are trading and not suited for finding the hard to get files?

For TV torrents:

http://www.btefnet.net

has all you need. They don't have a great retention time, but if you missed THAT SHOW YOU LOVE and you can't wait for a rerun or whatever, go here. They're mostly scene releases and the quality tends to be good.
