I have heard people say, I don't care if someone calls me a Cracker. Xou even posted that and I feel 100% the say way. Why? Because we have the power.

Yes Yes, I will also agree than White Males have been beat and attached by every minority group over the past 30 years but if you look at the power base it's still white males. Sometimes I feel like I as an individual have no rights anymore, everyone seems in a "protected" group but me. But then I have to realize that in most cases, white males are the ones in power and IN GENERAL (not all the time) people tend to hire, like, promote those who are most like themselves.

I had a long post last night which I deleted where I told of my old gang kids when I was a social worker / counselor. But I'm going to repost to make my point. One night while out eating with a bunch of the kids my supervisor, who was black, noticed that everyone still used the word "nigger" even though I (about as pale as can be) was still there. He pointed out to some of our kids that in his experience black people didn't call each other nigger when white people were around. All my kids responded that it was because I wasn't white, I was a nigger as well. This of course made me really proud. I had worked hard to make a good connection and although grades were better, juvi as down I didn't know until then if they really trusted me. My point of tell this is that while they called me that, to the amazement of people at the BBQ place sometimes, I didn't use the word. Why? because IMHO, even though they were comfortable with it, to me when a white person uses that term it's demeaning. Is it right that race should have a basis on what we say? well... yes I think so.

A teacher years ago told me "set the example, don't be the example." I think it's a pretty good rule. Whether that posting on a message board or yelling out to a bunch of friends.

IMO this thread is about personal dislikes for Kyoukan and not really about racism at all. Kyou has mercilessly challenged enough people here, often embarassing them, that a lot of people seem pretty keen on returning the favor in spades. Unfortunately for them, this issue won't support it.

For someone to then use racist terms in a malicious manner makes them not only a hypocrite but also a racist.
