Angel Finale ** SPOILERS **
I feel robbed. The episode was pretty damn good, but the ending left me feeling like I'd just gotten an extremity chopped off. Man. I'm angry.

Angel Finale
I thought it was a good episode. The ending did kind of make my jaw drop but I guess they had to not tie up all the loose ends so they could do the tv movie(s) if they actually decide to go that route at some point.
I got a little teary eyed when Illyria "lied" to Wesley.

My fiancee is the same way as you Dreg, was just about to post.
I'm ok with it. I want to know if they live through it or not - but I really like what happened with Lorn (I felt so sorry for him) and Eve (felt bad for her, too). I loved the final fight between Angel and that guy.
Not a huge fan of the limited showing of Spike. I AM a huge fan of what they had him do on his day off, that was too cool. I liked watching Gunn in action, that felt satisfying in a way.
Was glad Conor was put back in at the end too - that sort of just wrapped it up for me. I never was a great fan of the kid, But!
Wesley.. what can I say. I knew it'd happen to him. LOVED Illeria for what she did, both durring and after that tho. Wish that they had given her more time with her fight sequence.. wait, she didn't have any time there. Was just "hi" and "oh shit".
Harmony didn't surprise me either. Angel's Judas speach did.. given that she wasn't even in the room at the time.
All told, given the time they had to put it together, I think it was well done.

I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

I KNEW he wasn't going to last. After Fred, after finding out what he'd done to Angel the previous season.. I knew it.
Lorn.. that man has balls. And I'm sorry to see him have to do what he did.

One of the greatest nights on TV in a long time, with the excellent next-to-last Enterprise episode and the wonderful Angel finale.
Can't wait for next week's Enterprise season finale.
Word is there will be at least one "season" of direct to DVD Angel episodes if Spike TV or some other cable network doesn't pick this up.

It was the best they could do on short notice. I liked the ending a lot and felt really giped that this was the last episode as well, but he tied up what he could and left something solid for a future season and/or TV movies. The thing I will miss most about this series (aside from the biting cynical humor) is the love/hate relationship between Spike and Angel, which made season 5 my favorite.
It was sad to see them whack Wes, but you knew something bad was going to happen there. The sight of the archmage's head vaporizing after Ilyria got pissed off was priceless, though. The dialog during the fight scene with the representative of the Senior Partners was excellent, as well. They really crafted a perfect guy for Angel to have his final showdown with.
All that said, I can't fucking believe shows like 7th heaven are getting another season and Angel is being replaced by the second fucking remake of Dark Shadows. The Smallville season finale was equally good, but unlike Angel, the bulk of this season kind of sucked. I don't know what the fuck the WB execs are thinking.

War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."
