E3
So what games/hardware are you most interested in at this year's E3? I am definitely looking forward to the Nintendo DS, if for no other reason than the fact that Nintendo's financial future depends on the success of that system, so I really want it to do well. I'm also just looking forward to most of the Nintendo games in general this year. It will be a great year for sequels with Paper Mario 2, Metroid Prime 2, Wind Waker 2, and Viewtiful Joe 2, but hopefully they will have some other unexpected surprises like possibly a Smash Bros. sequel or a new Mario platformer. I'm also interested in seeing the PSP and taking a look at what games they have planned for it, since it will undoubtedly change the handheld gaming market drastically. I'm also really looking forward to Doom 3 and Half Life 2 since those games already looked awesome last year, so they should be near finished this time around (although I wouldn't put it past Valve to delay HL2 for another couple months). Overall, it looks to be a very good year for games.
Also, is anyone here going to be at E3 this year? I got extremely lucky and scored a job working there through my school, so I will be there on the 12th and the 14th, and I'll be working registration on the 13th. Maybe I'll see some of you there.

I'm hoping to see something new from Bioware, praying for a Starcraft sequel announcement from Blizzard, tumbleweeds down the center of Interplay's booth, a presence of Obsidian Entertainment, the next Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts 2 game from Square[nix], Capcom's next fighting game (MvC3?) and the various goodies, flashies and tchotchkes.

To be honest, I am awaiting an english translation of Final Fantasy: Advent Children to be announced at E3. It is not a game, rather a movie-esque sequal to FF7 set 2 years after the game's ending.
If anyone has not seen the trailer, here you go:

Release date is wrong and supposedly it's Xbox2, or somesuch.
VG is not for standard xbox.
Unless you got that from E3, in which case I am a big dumb jackass right now.

Also announced that they will be using the unreal engine. One of the most innovative looking titles being published by Microsoft is a massively multiplayer game from Sigil Online Games, the spiritual home of EverQuest. Named Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, it's being developed using Microsoft's new developer kit called XNA, which allows developers to make next-generation games that will run on both the PC and Xbox with full compatibility.
This implies that gamers on the PC and Xbox versions of Vanguard will be able to play against each other, use an Xbox controller to play on a PC, and access save-games that work on either platform. Allard also revealed there will be a PC version of the Xbox Live service.

Genre....
I think Genre and gameplay are two different things, and it would likely depend on how that's implemented of course. So, without more info, you can't tell anything really.
