I think I've had a good run with Oogah. I wasn't the best player, but then again I wasn't the worst either. What I lacked in skills, (I'd like to think that) I've made up with by paying attention, learning, staying focus, and being a team player through and through. And although I didn't get to see or visit all the high-end contents as I would've like, but of what I had seen, I've had a blast getting there. I didn't get to meet all the famous, or infamous for that matter, players, but those whom I've encountered did enhance my gaming experience one way or another. I'm thankful for that.
Taking a page straight from a friend of mine, SmokeN'Mirrorz (aka Edair / Whodat), I'd like to say that EQ wouldn't be the same for me without the people. Apologies to my friends if you aren't listed -- through sheer luck, the following people crossed paths and left their lasting impressions with me first. Representin' each class (you bastards pwn):
Bard: Dsma, Sartori
Beast: Animalor, Reikage
Cleric: Marxes, Apostate
Druid: Elspeth, Toalin
Enchanter: Edair, Rosethorn
Magician: Rask, Elquin
Monk: Mplor, Omjykhe
Necromancer: Aramancer, Melphys
Paladin: Crinus, Drolgin
Ranger: Seron, Dalinar
Rogue: Djalinn, Cynthia
Shadow Knight: Brump, Shaion
Shaman: Ooga, Kazlaaz
Warrior: Montanias, Pheten
Wizard: Shanks, Calandra
Some silly favorite-EQ-memories to waste more of your time and bandwidth:
Whodat (Edair's warrior) gave me a pair of Derv Rings. An hour later I died at first bridge inside UpperGUK. I ended up dying again 6 more times trying to get the corpse(s) back. Luckily, a group of FoH was clearing through and I finally got my corpses. I still have those rings on a gimp char -- homage to my homeboy, Whodat Izz, heh.
The party United We Stand thrown for Shanks for being the first guild member to reach lvl 50. Drunken duels are teh win!!!
Level 2 of Kedge Keep -- I was the only healers, no Clarity, bunch of tanks and a little gnome mage named Rask! I kept canni'ing non-stop while the rest of the crew fixed me up with summoned bandages. More fun than a Mana Stone I'm telling ya.
Calandra suggested the last name "Boo" for me -- best last name evar!
Solo'ing the pyramids of Cazic Thule. That was where I self-taught and mastered the art of root-parking.
Grouping with people who don't believe that shamans can pull and do CC. LOL.
Being the only shaman at a Dozekar raid for both Legion and Valhall -- way before we have MGB.
First experienced KS: Eagolus in H. Hold
Last experienced KS: Dalover in S. Karana
Best raid feeling: First slaying of Naggy/Vox for me
Scariest raid feeling: Just before the charges of those very slayings.
Best tasks: Camping shards for VT key for friends and guildmates
Worst tasks: Camping shards for VT key for friends and guildmates
First regret: When my daughter asked me if I love EQ more than her.
Last regret: Wasn't around at the end for Fiends.
Favorite EQ quotes:
"Incoming Dozekaaaarrrggghhh!" --Gildan of Valhall
"Dry froglok martini, beaten not stirred." --Whodat Izz of United We Stand
Guilds: United We Stand, Legion, LoA, Valhall, Fiends
Anyway, this shit is getting long... Best of wishes to all my friends who are still playing -- take care and have fun. Hopefully, if RL permits, I hope to see y'all again in another game somewhere in the near future.
PS: Remember, there is only one Boo -- accept no substitute.
