A lil tip for those who wasn't it Beta

Post by Kwonryu DragonFist »

Some people know this by now, some don't, so just an FYI.

In your eagerness to go out on patrol and crack some heads, keep something in mind:

You get souvenirs for completing mission story arcs, that is, a set of missions.

They are like badges in SWG.

They signify how many story lines you've completed and are exactly what they say they are, a souvenir. On your ID card, it will list which souvenirs you have.

Some people may care about them, some may not. But those who want to experience all the stories CoH has to offer, had best be careful not to out-level their beginner missions.

Mission story arcs will end if you go above their intended level. What this does is end the story arc for that contact and you won't be able to get the rest of the missions, thus you won't get get your souvenir for completing the mission set.

While not an issue in the mid levels, this is easy to do in the first 14 levels since those pass quickly.

If you want to get the most out of each story, do just the missions, and only kill a few baddies on the way back and forth. If you kill everything you see and rack up the levels early on, you'll miss out on OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS of content.

Second tip!

/whoall, to see the people in the zone.

/invite <name>
You do not have to see the person before you invite.

/friend <name>
Adding people to your friends-list, you can see their zonelocation in the friends-list to find them as well!

/t <name> , Text
Must have a comma after the name and before the text to send a tell!

Backspace
To reply to a message!

F6-F10
Preset commands, like RUN! HELP! etc

F10 is your BattleCry

F9 is efficient to use since it tells you your lvl, so you don't have to go to Menu / ID to see it!

The actual text when pressing F9 is

Level X Archetype looking for Team!

To see other Heroes level and info, either right-click on their toon, or rightclick on their name if you are grouped with them.

You can read their description, lvl, archetype and powers etc.

There is a lil chatbubble to the right of the chatbar(where you type) that you can either click on with the mouse or activate with a special button(you can assign this button to whatever key you want in options).

So, pressing they emote button, and then C(for combat emotes for example) and then another letter(you will see a list)you can easily with three clicks do a special emote and sound.

That is the first step, to find the list all the different emotes.

After that you can choose emotes of your liking,

/me burp

or

;burp

Will make your hero burp loudly and wipe his mouth hehe.

Use /me emote or ;<emotename>
