Misleading subject I guess, but couldn't think of a better word at the moment.
The question is, "Where was the coolest place(s) in an EverQuest zone that you finagled your way into that characters are likely not usually supposed to be able to access?" Doing so via guide accounts is fine for responses.. Also, what are places you've heard about but were never able to get into?
Mine:
Successful:
Top of Firiona Vie statue in FV
Inside the Hermit's hut in South Karana
The 'locked' area of Plane of Hate before it went public
On top of the cliffs of Erudin
The various 'inaccessable' areas of The Hole
The dev rooms in various zones
I miss the Guide/GM home being in the Plane of Sky rock
Between the outside wall and the inner wall of Unrest. (Hard to explain if you haven't been there, but the wall that surrounds the zone is one of two that circle it. There's no entrance/exit to the in between area, but clever levitating and sow running can get you over it.)
Heard about:
Heard one time that you could go down the well in SolA and get to a room, but never tried it for some reason.
The fabled 8th floor of Tower of Frozen Shadow (non-existant)
Also heard there were hidden areas of Karnor's Castle as well, but never found any.

Soreali, that secret wall isn't secret, it's a one way wall that you can take after you have beaten Velketor to get back to Velk's proper, instead of having to battle your way back out or group-gate/TL everyone out. It always was there and probably still is. It used to sometimes let people through the wrong way because of a small portion of the collision detection being unfinished. Just FYI

getting in the upstairs of plane of hate before it was 'opened'
couldnt really do it on purpose, if you "broke" in via fighting up on a wall, and if you got summoned during a fight, there was a chance you wuold get dropped upstairs.
then had to wait for a GM to get you out...fun
extra points if Inny was up and DT'd you up there
i also got evac'd once to the top of a mountain in Butcherblock. i had lower hps than my +hp, so the game refused to evac me to the druid rings. having waited 2 mins after my petition, i got antsy, and started moving around...big mistake

I got bored a few months ago and climbed to the top of the library in the Plane of Knowledge.
Back in '99 I used to climb trees in GFay and run over the zone to BB and sit in the corridor behind the zone line.
Sitting on top of Trueshot Bows in Kelethin used to be amusing.
It is possible to levitate from the rock near the zone in in PoStorms onto the wall separating each climate, which makes it a much faster run to forest or desert btw... You can kite up there without worrying about training anyone, but it isn't an exploit spot (the mobs will chase you up there).

I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

Other than ones already mentioned, I managed to find a way to climb the trees in the Rathe Council's chamber ( via levitate ) up to a point you actually warp through an invisible "ceiling." So a few hundred feet above the Rathe I found an edge I could cast on them at >< .... maybe if I had 200 wizards. Sploitz inc.

The windmill in PoTranq is accessible using just levitation.sweetkastings wrote:i did the mage trick with the levi and and shurkiens and was on top of the windmill in PoP until my surkien faded and the windmill choped me up i had to get a necro to summon it
The PoEarthB trick is cool, but my guildleader never would let me play in there (especially when chilling with the early FoH attempts) so I never found that one

The Library in PoK is a bitch to climb, I would recommend the attempt to anyone who wants something hard to puzzle over one day.
Oh, yes and running to the top of Karnor castle (in DL) was an every day occurance for me back when Kunark was first released (after I stopped hugging the walls, trembling in fear like every one else that first week).
Ah, the fun you can have using levitate, gflux, sow, and an insane amount of boredom....

You could and I believe still can, get up there without taking the normal means. If you levitate, then crouch and try to squeeze into the corner where the first floor slanted wall meets the second floor there are places in the design of the floor that you can squeeze through. (I believe it's the places that look like cement blocks).Voronwë wrote:getting in the upstairs of plane of hate before it was 'opened'

I forgot to mention the cat room in Befallen (it's on the other side of the zone line. If you can get past that for whatever reason, there's a room around the corner with pictures of a cat on the walls).
Also, above Felwithe on the top of the castle spire area. If you levitated and sow'd and went off to the side and up along the mountains to the spot that let you climb highest, you could run back and make it onto the castle top before falling down too far.
And if you're really patient and determined, you can get to the top of the highest building on the top island of Plane of Sky. It's a bitch though. And getting to the top of the Firiona Vie statue was much cooler. The top of the Butcherblock statue was kinda fun too.
In Cod where you fall down when you zone in.
Stand there and /duel a person with g flux, take of all your mr stuff... when g flux hit and you mid air run in to wall and you will end upp on a ledge.
The I can get to where I whant in Plane of Water using shink and some ducking in to wall/floor thingy ( fixxed!).
Training front door morons that totaly deserves it in Lake of Ill omen via fearing one at back door and fast running upp to the evil ppl needing a train, saying hi etc so they se you dident come from inside fort with a lot of mobbs but rather from somewhere else, should have some mobbs inc antime.
Regarding windmill in PoT, try and get a enc with proj illu then sit on round thing going around around cloose to where the pointy thing is, sit/stand/duck your way in to the " hole" remove your small race illusion and you should be in a fun place.

some pics of the rathe thing since I noticed I took some-

Also, you could use that shrink and duck/sit trick to run through "holes" in the wall in the Plane of Time graveyard onto a ledge around the wall. With knockback/flux type effect in a duel I could jump into the Quarm-clicker room in P5~

Actually, pre revamp, spirit of the eagle worked up in hate (oops) which, when combined with the retarded pathing on the second floor, resulted in some amusing exproits and trains. My personal favorite "hack" was getting launched by one of the Dars in Western Wastes into the ocean. Once, we had someone get stuck in mid air on the zone border when this happened. There was also a night in PON where I fell through the zone and landed miles below the surface. Stuff up top was still agroing me, so I busted out my horse and made a nice huge train of gargoyles and took it to zone in hehe.
War is an option whose time has passed. Peace is the only option for the future. At present we occupy a treacherous no-man's-land between peace and war, a time of growing fear that our military might has expanded beyond our capacity to control it and our political differences widened beyond our ability to bridge them. . . .
Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war.
--RICHARD M. NIXON, "REAL PEACE" (1983)
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, represents, in the final analysis, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, who are cold and are not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children."
Dwight Eisenhower
