I probably don't have to tell you, but...

Post by Xouqoa »

The site wasn't reeaaaaaaaaally sold to anyone. Was just a joke. =)

Thanks to everyone who played along! I ended up telling some people to help incite the masses. The moderators all knew, as well as a few people that I told because I was afraid they would be going to spend money or time on a new board.

Anyway, I hope at least some people think it's funny. I've received somewhat mixed feedback but I think most will appreciate it for the joke that it was intended for.

Edit: Nobody is pregnant or getting married either. That was just a compelling story to make the 'sale' more believeable.

well...that, and the "banner ads" up top were housed in the VV images folder and called in the HTML without any sort of click tracking. Basically just replaced the normal header images.

I was certain it was a joke from the start, but finding that was what cinched it for me.

Yeah, I accidently posted as Xou when I meant to post as Yantis. The post was there for MAYBE 5 seconds, and Colal got a screenshot of it. ><

Was totally worth it to see the Holmes stooges and Shaerra gripping/enjoying it.

Thanks for the PM Nilaman, I appreciate it. I couldn't believe how many PMs/IMs I got in the last two days.

I admit, I fell for it. But $20k for the board, no input from Py, there were all these little things that made it sound like something wasn't right. So I sat back and watched it unravel.

Hammerstalker, Atokal and Kilrain are all real life brothers... Last name Holmes.

Since they want to call me by my real name all the time, I see no reason for me to do otherwise.

You know there is a TV sitcom here somewhere. You could have as the main star some marginally ugly grammar nazi, with delusions of being some kind of Don Juan. Further he could be narcissistic and dating a midget. No creative ability and a huge suck up at work.

Call it the Noel Reynolds show. "Metro Sexual at large"

I thought it was real. I had my doubt though when Yantis had the south park graphic of Satan as his avatar. Then I started thinking, hmmm this is something cartman would do. Go through all the trouble of pissing everyone off, sticking to the story to drive everyone crazy, then burst out laughing hahahahahahah I got you KIND OF.

Well something like that.

The whole thing was pure fucking genius, to any that don't see that I have no clue what to say. To any of the folks that PMed me (I got more then a few) and I flat out lied to, don't be pissed, I abhor lying, but to sell a joke in my eyes that is totally different.

Some gimp server board wrote:Well, looks like the best EQ forums joke ever has now been copycated this year. Almost to the letter.

Thats right, VeeshanVault is now acting as if they have been bought out by Yantis/IGE...

Um, right...

It was a great joke last year by Tarot, Leo, Cak, et all. But now it's being redone without anything original to it.

Check it out.

Actually, my roomie and I thought of it after hearing about the whole Yantis being hired by IGE a while ago. I've never heard of your board (EZ Board is below me.) so there's really no way we could have 'copied' your idea. If it makes you feel better though, you can go back and tell everyone that you're sure we aren't creatvie and we must have ripped you off.

load up the short bus and bring all your pals over. i aint clicking on your link, and i'm pretty sure nothing about your server inspired shit. yeah, we are trolling EZBOARD shit....

quite honestly, i'm sure 99.9% of the people on Veeshan didnt know there was a server called Lanys or whatever.

its been awhile since a group of clowns from another server tried to make their claim here, so please please endulge us.
