About players quitting over CS issues.

The truth is that players won't quit if the issue isn't directly affecting them or a relative/close friend. That's the human nature I think. We frequently not see wrong until it hits us in the face. Reading rants sure helps others see the problem. But until this problem happens to us and gets us so frustrated that we only see quitting the game as a resolution, we will stay and play. We post supportive mesages on boards, pat the victim on the shoulder and say "sorry it happened to you man" and play on.

Oh and customer service doesn't suck everywhere. I've never been a guide in EQ, worked for 2 years as a guide equivalent in one of AOL Premium Games though, and probably the word "premium" is the key here. Sony is onto something here and it's not exactly rocket science. There comes a time in life where people stop looking for something cheap and prefer something good. Sony will just need to realize (maybe they did already) that the product and service will have to be really good to attract customers. And keep them. On the other hand addiction is a terrible thing and makes for a great money maker so there :(

I don't have high hopes for EQ2, will not play it period.
SWG? no thanks, not a fan, not even the greatest graphics and CS will make me one.

so inept that a word has not yet been coined to sufficiently describe their stupidity
I loved that. Frankly doesn't surprise me. EQ won't last forever and it sorta looks like they're trying to drive people to their next "big thing."

I find the most interesting thing in the thread to be the revelation (at least it was to me) that Sony/Verant will be charging for customer service for future products. Free service is limited to email.

The funniest thing I think I read was a SH player complaining about how they didn't have GM support for over a full day.. extra monthly subscription money well spent!

It never ceases to amaze me the level of customer support the average eq player expects for 13 bucks a month. You are lucky to get even a fucking guide online. Ranting and posting whines about how bad the CS is because 12 GMs don't leap out of your fucking toilet and suck your respective reproductive organ every time some lamer outsmarts and scams you or you can't get along with whoever else makes me want to fucking puke.

So you lost a fake item or someone's being a cock and stealing your fake monsters. Boo fucking hoo.

Said like the true "Champion from the cheap seats" that you are Kyoukan.

Easy to be such a shit as you when you are no longer involved in the game. Impressive.

If their game wasn't so buggy and did things like eat peoples items then sure, you'd maybe have a point that people expect too much for $13. If I lost an item that either no longer drops or took a long time to get due to their shitty code then you're damn right they better be helping me out. If they had a solid product they'd more than likely require less support staff.

A message from Customer Service

There have been some rumors spreading around the net like a wildfire over
the last few days. Alan Crosby has asked me to pass this message on to you
about those rumors.

Greetings all,

Rest assured that there is no plan to institute a "pay for Customer Service"
model. We have a large staff of over 70 GMs and Supervisors for EverQuest
alone and plan to continue with the same level of Customer Support, as part
of the purchase price for all of our soon to be released titles.

Customer service will always be an integral part of SOE's products and while
we may not respond to every issue as rapidly as we would like, we do try to
resolve them all in time. If you find that your issue has not been responded
to, please use the Contact a GM link on the EverQuest board. These emails
are generally responded to within 48 hours thanks to the diligence of our
Email GMs. In addition, while GMs are available in limited numbers 24 hours
a day, you may have the best chance of contact during peak usage hours which
are from 5PM to 8PM PST as this is when most GMs are available.

Thanks for your time and patronage.

I call bullshit. But then what do I know? Of course, he probably meant...

"We have a large staff of over 70 GMs and Supervisors"

Dammit all to hell. I wish someone would warn me before posting this stuff. I didn't have my boots on and now I'm knee deep in bullshit.

Hello dipshits.. /point Legends.

Just goes to show how ignorant Verant thinks it's customers are.

I had the exact same opinion back when I was playing. Something you would realize if you weren't so busy scouring ebay for more clues to buy along with your scant reputation, you stupid fuckwad.
