Seattlites...

Post by Pahreyia »

So instead of taking the move to the South Orange County offer, I've been considering moving back up to the Seattle area in the next few months. I wanted to hit up the people here and ask what kinds of oppertunities are up there. Is the Pacific Northwest still in the economic trouble that they were in last year? Are things looking up? How's housing prices and everything?

I'll be doing some research on my own this weekend, but sometimes it's best to hear about it from the people who live there too.

Housing - inexpensive
Unemployment - high

However, just about anywhere in the NW is much nicer than socal....except the porn is better there...and there is In-N-Out.... The economy has been ass here for quite some time. I am not sure why really. If you can find a job before you move, you will be stoked. :)

as far as apartments go, capitol hill is close to downtown and cheap cheap cheap, but you would be surrounded by gay. Belltown and Queen Anne are more expensive but still relatively cheap. I live in Belltown and I love it.

Job market is tough here, housing is over priced. I ended up buying a house in Duvall just so I would't have to pay $850.00 a month in rent ( this was two and a half years ago ) for 640 Sq feet Apt.
heres a site to see what jobs are around

http://work.wa.gov/

hope this helps

Job market is slowly getting a little better in this area - though unemployment is still above the national average. It's not as bad as it was.

Though personally, I'd move to Portland, OR instead of Seattle ;)

seattle has a manly feel to it mainly cause they have football, football is manly. hugging trees is not.
but portland has me now, so portland is getting more manly, after time I shall subvert this entire society into a proper manly establishment.
