He has down syndrome btw. Not full-blown down syndrome, but there are different levels of it. There is a reason he is so oblivious to the fact that everyone makes fun of him, and that he isn't a good singer. He thinks he is and he's living out his dream, so I guess that's good. Sad though that so many people are just laughing at him. He's happy though, i think. That's what counts.

No, and I will try to find validation. My mom is a nurse of 25 years and was 110% positive that it is the case. It was actually a discussion brought up by a doctor she works with while at work. To them it is undeniably obvious. So no its not official, but It does make a lot of sense. I'd be willing to bet on it

Well whether he does or doesn't I don't think people are laughing at him in a sad way. He's funny and this is the greatest thing that will ever happen to him. I'm certainly not got to brand him "poor little Down's Syndrome boy." He's having a good time!

Studying civil engineering at Berkeley and capitalizing on his American Idol ten minutes of fame would lead me to believe he's more wiley than not. I don't think he has Down's Syndrome - or if he does, it's an extremely mild case.

More likely some mongolian heritage...Down's Syndrome patients used to be called "Mongoloid" because of superficial similarities in appearance...And he does have a fairly typical mongolian aspect...

And about him being a civil engineer, a lot of mental disabilities are more of effect you more socially than intellectually. It's like autistic people, they are socially inept, yet some have been discovered to be absolute genius when it comes to mathematics, etc...

I bet he has it, but it is just very very mild.

That, or you THINK he is. Maybe he did the entire thing as a joke and is trying to build on that. Hell, if all you had to do is act like a mildly retarded jackass on TV to make a few K and hook up a record deal or 2, i know a lot of people that would buy into that.

Just curious. How exactly is Down's Syndrome anything less than "full blown"?. Is it possible to have 46.5 chromosomes instead of 47 or something?
