Ok... Think I've seen everything now. But who knows. I'm sure someone will surprise me...

That's just... disturbing. I think the "Love at First Click" sponsor at the top of it is equally disturbing.

"So how did you two meet?"

"Well we met on an internet dating service I discovered while watching a live cam of a man decomposing."

Half of me is saying that's very disturbing.
The other half is telling me that could be considered a first hand view for medical or forensic students on the exact stages of body decay that want to do a thesis and don't have ready access to a corpse (like the body farms you hear referenced on the discovery science channel sometimes).

And part of me is wondering if they used any preservitives at the funeral home that would decelerate the rate of decay on the body any, and if so, by how much.

Not sure why anyone would want this service in particular really...

The decay data for corpse in varying states of burial, totally exposed etc etc is already well documented at the FBI Forensics Div/UTK's "Body Farm". They have a large facility where they expose human remains to sort of every concievable decompositional situation they can imagine and statictically document the results over time...I think the documentation in coffins has been pretty well documented already...

So ya know I think you can prolly do the research there...:) and not on your friends...:)

I am seriously half tempted to add that to my favorites.
Wonder if it's for real.

Have you never seen this Simpsons episode?

% Bart amuses himself in one of the coffins -- excuse me -- caskets,
% pretending it's a race car.

Bart: [making "vroom, vroom" noises] He's heading into
Dead Man's Curve! [makes a hard left, which nudges
the casket lid. It slams shut, trapping Bart
inside. We hear muffled screams as he tries to get
out]
Director: [chuckles] Oh, the living. Well, fortunately, this
model features the Cadaver-Cam.
[turns on a small TV embedded in a monument. We see
Bart clawing at the lid of the casket]
Abe: [laughs] Look at him go.
Homer: That thing got picture-in-picture?
Director: Of course. This is the Contempo.
[demonstrates by switching channels to a basketball
game. The picture of Bart shrinks to the upper
right-hand corner]
Homer: Aw, geez. How come they never call traveling
anymore?

That has been in there since Aug. 23 and still hasnt really decomposed at all from what I can tell. Kinda surprising to me considering outside of a coffin people start decomposing after a few days...didn't think coffins kept things out that much heh.

Keep in mind, the body was probably packed with all sorts of preseritives and such to keep it fresh durring the viewing. And yeah, coffins are pretty air tight and sealed against water and whatnot.
