Superbowl Adds

Post by Arborealus »

They should really schedule the big adds during the superbowl.

I could care less about the game or the cheesy halftime production...but I often end up missing the adds trying to avoid the "content"....

Pepsi ads overall win

Jimi Hendrix and the internet song thingy were pretty classic. Good to see product or image promotion instead of special effect fests while employees continue to be shitcanned, doesn't make the former workforce drops solely for cutbacks seem as futile

I thought most of the comercials sucked, save a few. Hendrix was good.

I liked the Pepsi ad with the girl saying she's going to keep downloading free music off the net. That one worked well I thought.

The unphased ref getting yelled at my a coach on the sidelines and then the switch to him being yelled at by his wife was worth a chuckle.

Actually I thought whoever allowed AOL to make that many commercials was a fucking retard. I didn't think the first one was funny, the next 5 or so weren't remotely funny either.. but thats just my take. In fact, most of them I can't even remember they were so bad.

Think of all the poor rubes who are going to be duped by AOL's so-called "TurboBoost" technology, or whatever the hell they called it. Just because they cache stuff and you can connect at higher than 28.8 kbps speeds doesn't mean that it's going to be faster than cable or dsl. Someone should start a lawsuit!

The other problem with AOL is that their caching completely destroys a lot of new technology out there on websites. Truly dynamic sites cannot be cached. We run into a ton of problems with AOL users due to this.
