Should it have a sequel?

Post by Bubba Grizz »

What movies do you think should have a sequel and which movies do you think should be left alone?

Example: Goonies. Personally I think this movie was great just the way it is and should not have a sequel.

I've been waiting my whole life for Tango & Cash 2: Electric Boogaloo, but I fear I may die without that dream being fulfilled. Never has there been a better on-screen, buddy-cop duo than Kurt Russell and Sylvester Stallone.

That's a video game. I was talking about the potential sequel that Corey Feldman is pushing for. Here

You're right, and I noticed that before removing the link. Then I got distracted with a beer and some music and forgot to fix it. Am I thinking Ghoulies or something like that then?

Mistakes:

Escape from LA
Ghostbusters 2 (well, sorta)
Scream/I know what you did last summer, etc 1-4 (or 3? who cares)
Halloween 3
Jeepers Creepers, both of those things
Fast and Furious 1 & 2 (super gay!)
Star Wars 1,2 and most likely 3 :(
Exorcist 2 (although 3 was sweet!)
Jaws 4 (3-D was pwnage though, I miss cheesy 3D 80's flicks like that, Friday the 13th and Krull(I think it was Krull))

I can't think of any movies that I want a sequel for, but may later...

I'd love to see a King Conan movie.

What about Underworld? They left it open for a sequel but do you think it is worth it? Hell they made Blade 2 and that actually turned out to be pretty cool.

Won't see any new Arnold flicks until he is done with his term, but ya never know! I would love to see a new Conan, as long as it doesn't suck major ass like 'Destroyer'.

---however, Wilt the Stilt was fantastic in it!

The Crow.

Shouldn't have had any sequels. Much less 2. Or 3 since I hear they are working on another one.

Amen to that. Thank God they never made Stripes 2. You just can't fuck with a classic.

Arnold is old but he was supposed to be somewhat old as the king. They'd have to split the story to include his son Conn.

You knew I'd respond..

/agree. If Brandon hadn't died in the first one, then the sequels would most likely have been just as awesome as the first. But the second sucked almost as bad as Brotherhood of teh Suck did. The third was actually ok, but nothing special. I haven't heard, lately, any news of a fourth one being made - the Rob Zombie crap was cancelled, thank God.

I also would have liked to see Brandon take his position in Mortal Kombat like he was cast before he died.. and a sequel to Rapid Fire as well.

Underworld 2 - Cool movie, but I don't see a good way of making a sequel that's not stretching it too much..

Matrix 2/3 - Ugh.
Tomb Raider 2 - Ugh

Yes
Office Space
The Princess Bride
Ice Age
Nemo
Shrek
8mm
Blade Runner
Bourne Identity
Italian Job
Titan AE

Equilibrium - This might be tough to do with the way the movie ended.

The Cube - Yes. The second one (HyperCube) was left wide open for a sequel.

I didn't care for the Cube sequel. The original Crow was marginal at best, but then again, I am not into the goth thing. Caddyshack 2 was indeed terrible and props to Waran on the bitchin Spaceballs quote. ;)

Any and all of the Highlander sequels sucked. Some of the worst I've seen - and I really like the whole 'highlander thing'. The TV show was great though.

I think part of what makes a good sequel is a continuation of the story line. You see this clearly in Aliens and Terminator 2. Or maybe it's just the continued involvement of a strong lead character.

What you see in bad sequels is just a "similar" movie, and the star rarely returns.

So, with that said.. the animated movies could become sequels, but stuff like 8mm and Blade Runner? I dread to think...

Bourne Identity 2 is shooting/in the can.

Office Space has nowhere to go, I always stop watching that movie once the protagonist "wakes up" anyway.

Anyway, if I wanted anything as a sequel it would be Pirates of the Carribean, but only if Depp was in it. Captain Jack was such a magnificently realised character he merits another movie on his own, the rest are supporting cast :p

What would you guys think about an Unreal Tournament movie? Think in terms of gladiator, only with UT style.

Underworld 2 sequel

Underworld 3 prequel

No one mentioned Matrix 2/3 as total abortions of a movie yet.
