You know, they made a 3rd movie in that series. You might still be able to catch it in the theaters.

Too often it seems it is the peaceful and innocent who are slaughtered. In this a lesson may be found that it may not be prudential to be either too peaceful or too innocent. One does not survive with wolves by becoming a sheep.

Basically I refuse to think of it as 3 seperate parts. It was written as one story, it was filmed as one story. It is one story in my eyes.

In the order they were released, worst to first...although none were bad to begin with.

I'd like to see a condensed 3 hour movie combining all three movies. In the ultra delux release of the trilogy there should be a 3 hour total version as well as a 12 hour bladdertastic version.

WTF! Where is the Ralph Bakashi cartoon version? I still would have picked Fellowship because I love origins.

The Fellowship of the Ring is still my favorite of the three, although I loved each one of them. I also think FotR was by far the easiest to write, film, and was the most conducive to the new medium.

RotK is my second favorite, followed by TT.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Book - ROTK
Film I can't judge until ROTK:EE, truthfully, so I'll say FOTR for now. FOTR:EE owns so much.

I like them all soo amazingly much that I can't really say one was better than the others, but in spirit of this poll I will pick one:

I would say Fellowship of The Ring, because I was just so incredibly hyped up for this series(all 3 books are my favorite books of all time). It felt like such a great award to have finally gotten to see the first one. I didn't really know what to expect, I mean they could have butchered it, but it was adapted so amazingly well it pulled me right in and at the end, I did not want to leave the theater. I sat through all of the credits, just in awe. Having to organize the abundance of great feelings flowing through me and realize that this was just the beginning. Amazing felling I tell you, amazing.

The second I walked out of the theater I really felt like I had just seen something truly wonderous, and to think, that was just the beginning...

The 2nd and 3rd were just as good and in some aspects better than the first, but seeing the first of the greatest movie trilogy ever will always be a strong memory of cinematic enjoyment and satisfaction.

P.S. Eggnog(w/ rum) is waaay too good...

yeha its almost impossible to come up with a favorite, since you never judge most movies by the beginning/middle/end
i voted for TTT just becouse of helms deep, but it would be a very close call with the other 2
