Christmas Loot!
It is 8:32 CST and we just completed our Christmas Eve event with the wife's family(tomorrow is my family). I managed to bring in a few good items this year. For some reason they must like me. I got
DVDs (XMen 2 and Terminator 3)
A Cordless Drill with a seperate package of 75 assorted bits.
Best Buy gift cards
Clothes
Not a bad haul. The drill will be really handy now that I bought a house.

Ducru
Santa and Py were good to me this year (as always)

Highlights of my lewt:
A beautiful pair of Sapphire Earrings, Cafe table and chairs for my breakfast nook, a space heater to keep me warm while I raid and stuff, Best Buy Gift Cert, other gift certs to help me finish off some home decorating I am in the middle of. Been a good one =)
Warlock of Ixtlan ~ Whisperwind
My wife bitched at me cause this year for like every 1 gift I bought for someone else, I bought like 5 for me
No one gives me any good gifts, so I just buy them myself. I did surprisingly get the 2nd season of 24.
I bought my wife a Gucci purse, which distracted her from the laptop I bought myself. Then she asked for matching shoes, Ugh...It never ends...

I am just happy that my family has been there for me since I made moved from LA. It has been a bitch, and still is...but, It is pretty cool to know that they care
Also, although I miss my friends back home, I have met some really great people here
So...I guess Santa has been ok so far this year..

DVDs:
Family Guy Season 3
Bowling For Columbine
South Park Season 1
4 shirts, 3 pair of jeans, dress pants
Scarf, gloves and a really nice coat
Chess board
Pajamas
MoneyCash
Dinner and a movie for my GF and I
Candy/food
And best of all, friend gave me these games for PC:
Knights of the Old Republic
Call of Duty
Medal of Honor and both expansions
Simpsons Hit & Run
XIII
Age of Mythology: Titans
Command and Conquer: Zero Hour
Dungeon Siege expansion
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Jedi Academy
Lords of Everquest
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Halo
and like 5 or 6 more I forget at the momment...
I'm not kidding, he hooked me the fuck up. Since I have been unemployed for a bit, I haven't bought any new games. I just got a new job and he walks in with a 50 pack of CDRs for me almost completely filled with games. I've never had so many great new games at once, so I'm taking it in stride and trying to give them all equal attention, but it's hard!
Even though I had a great Christmas, you know you're getting old when you get more satisfaction out of giving good gifts instead of recieving. My little brother and sisters had a hell of a good Christmas, and that is the best thing I could have recieved.

Since I am about to move (sometime in Jan or Feb by my estimation... the people at the INS are really slow
), I asked for money, since there's no point in getting me anything big... I would just have to box it up for shipment.
So, with my money I'm going to pamper myself with some goodies from the Body Shop, and get a few books. I can spend all day in the bookstore.. and the Body Shop for that matter.
Chatted with my fiance on the phone, and he (well I guess you can say "we") got the Alien quadrilogy (Thanks Toe!), Pirates of the Carribean & Finding Nemo on DVD, and some cook-ware for our home.

I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.

No need to list everything I got, but by far the most interesting was a pack of draws from the inlaws. I mean, wtf. Who has the nerves to get someone underwear as their only Christmas gift, and do it with a straight face. Was I supposed to say thank you? I kind of said "underwear...cool". I guess there is a birghtside, I now have three more pair of underwear than I did before.

i don't know why she loves to buy underwear for christmas. my father gets underwear from her every year. she bought underwear for my aunt while we were out, too. i guess she figures it's something that most everyone will use?

Aye, I did, Kwon. I thoroughly enjoyed the architecture...the armor...the subtle emphasis on Bushido...the philosophy. However the whole *learning to master the sword and the Japanese "Ways" in a few months* required a great deal of suspension of disbelief on my part. I've been studying formally under a sensei for nearly 15 years...and I consider myself a beginner...at the very least I have a beginner's spirit.
Oh, and the gatling gun scene .... You do not take multiple 50 cal rounds and walk away...unless you are Tom Cruise apparently...grrrr.
Overall a very good movie...the architecture of the period...from the Imperial court to the village homes was pretty darn accurate...they held the sword correctly for the most part. And the scenes with the bokken (wooden practice sword) was nice.
I'll buy it on DVD when it comes out. I mean, I bought The Hunted with Christopher Lambert....so it's pretty obvious how low the depths of my bad taste will sink...
