In general which do you like more, EA or 989?

I could make a poll, but I don't care...i'm looking for a baseball game to curb my withdrawals until the season picks up. I'm going to rent each...but they were out this week...so just answer the question!

989 used to be okay, but from what my ex boyfriend says all they make now is shit. I don't know much about sports games though. he is a baseball freak and produces a tv show about video games so I'll ask him what the best one is next time I talk to him.

edit: "world series baseball 2k3 by Sega (on the PS2) is the best baseball game ever fucking made" but this year its going to be called ESPN major league baseball because sega signed some deal with ESPN i guess. EA's mvp baseball is second best.

MS purchased the High Heat license so that may turn out to be the best baseball title this spring. Between EA and 989, it's not even close; it's usually a comparison between Sega and EA. The former usually gets the nod on the Xbox because Sega actually tries to use the hardware instead of dumbing it down to a ps2 in addition to having online. On the other hand, EA gets the ps2 nod because it has online out of the box and doesn't look like a stepchild next to the Xbox version. Madden also has some excellent side games and the best franchise mode out there. NBA from EA has killer control but isn't as realistic as Sega's offering and Sega really pulled the rug out of EA on the NHL side

Then again, the question was 989 vs. EA. In that case, it's really not a choice at all

Electronic Arts has made high quality well though out Sports games for over 15 years, earlier then that i cant say.

But i picked up NHL hockey 2003 for X-Box, and its just as good ( reletive to the console quality ) as i remember.

EA > all.
