It was just him and two other performers who played guitar, electric bass, double string bass, mandolin and harmonica. The show was supposed to be 2 hours yet John played for over 3.5 hours - non-stop
. About 2/3rds though the show the other two left the stage and he did at least an hour alone of requests the other two might not know. I once heard that people listen to musicians, but musicians listen to John Prine. I don't doubt it, the man exceeded our expectations. At the end he joked "You know, I don't know who had more fun here tonight, you or me.... but I think it was me!" and I think he might be right
If you know who he is and ever get the chance to see him, don't pass it up!
