Question about Toronto

Post by valryte »

I'm heading to Toronto for about a week. I was thinking of possibly going skiing on Sat or Sun. First, is it ok to ski now? And if so, where can I go that is decent and is not more than an hour or two from Toronto? Do I have to drive or do they have like shuttles? Also is anything going on that I might want to check out? I'll be there from Friday Nov 28 until the following Thursday.

thanks...

For fuck's sake. I'm glad masteen is on the ball here. Toronto is famous for one thing and it's sure as hell not skiing.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

Make sure you visit one of these shops to get your money converted. Canadian's hate $US.

(plus, given the exchange rate, you'll probably get off cheap... <insert random sexual joke here> )

there's only two "mountains" near toronto you can ski on and they're fucking crap. They're also closed right now.

Toronto has much to offer including a great nightclub scene in the Peter / John St area.

The Ballet is awesome as Masteen noted but stay outta the VIP areas unless you have a lot of cash.

No Snow as of yet so no skiing at Mount St. Louis Moonstone or Blue Mountain. Yes they are hills not mountains.

Toronto also offers lots of fine restaurants and sightseeing opportunities.

Hope you enjoy your stay.

There's no snow.....Try back in about 4-6 weeks.
The only decent skiing fairly close to Toronto is blue Mountain and it doesn't usually get going until after newyears.

There's shitloads to do in Toronto.. restaurants, clubs, shopping and the usual touristy things.
If you want to get a better idea of Toronto's diversity check out The Danforth (Greektown), Chinatown/Kensington Market, Little Italy(s) (St. Clair or College), Queen West and The Annex/Koreatown.

As soon as you get here, grab a copy of 'Eye' and 'Now' magazines... they have a rundown of some good places to go and see if you're not into the 'tourist' thing.

I was just in Vail and Breckenridge this past week. Go there if you want to ski. It is relatively cheap and a good time. I did not ski, because they just opened, but it was quite a spectacle...not like the shitty ones in Ohio.
