After I first got my new kitten a couple months ago, I had this recurring trouble.. would be happily making out ontop of the sheets, totally oblivious to the location of aformentioned hairball with teeth... then have this black furred yellow eyed torpedo that may weigh about 5 pounds soaking wet come out of nowhere and hit me like a baseball ><

Many moods ruined because of that.

A. Hock up something that looks like the art sketches form Alien either ON your bed or in said vicinty. Not always a show stopper, but noentheless wrong.

or my personal favorite experience...

B. Realize right as you are about to launch, that the door is open to the next room where the litter box is and you hear a "I love Wet Food" squeeling kitty diarrhea fart right as the air conditioning kicks on and the intake is a little too near the litter box. Mood not only ruined, but so was dinner later=)
