How about you not read the EQ forum if you think that, mkay?

Ieail, that was unnecessary. If you want to be an EQ malcontent, feel free to check out http://www.FoHguild.org or do so in a compelling manner.

Sans that, I'll thank you for not posting that trite garbage to someone who clearly still gives a shit about EQ, in this forum.

Sweet:
Yeah, I heard a rumor about this a while back. Weather it's true remains to be seen. Tho if it does end up a choice between luclin and new graphics.. my dualbox is dead.

Wonder if they are going to rape your memory as much as Luclin graphics.

I'll be happy if they change the movements of the new models so that my characters a.)don't run like gimps b.)don't walk like monkeys and c.) don't stand with a slight lean foward like they're gonna fall straight over after a night of binge drinking.

SoE changed the run animations a few months back. I can remember taking a few screenies of what it looked like. If I can find them, I'll post a couple. For quick reference, think Diablo 2's hunched over, running against 80mph winds look. It was pretty lame.

Except gnomes. They looked hilarious.

Unless CSR-Roger is completely pulling our legs, he has confirmed its existance, but has released no information other than what he let slip in this thread.

I remember them changing the models a couple months back, but if I remember correctly they immediately changed them back to the way they were due to the uproar created by a large enough player base (or Furor, one or the other). I don't think I ever got a chance to log on during that as they re-patched pretty quickly. Pics plzkthx :)

I believe the official statement was something along the lines of: "We.. uhhh... uhm... Oh yeah. Those were some beta animations that uhm.... weren't supposed to be downloaded in this patch... or something."

It was a good effort on SoE's part, unfortunately they looked every part of a rushed project that was meant to surprise the customer base.

New graffics look good, but I think it's funny they compare the Aviak tower to Kelethin.

Thanks Ceno : )

There's not enough there to really tell anything. I hope they release some character models. The world itself is ok IMO in EQ, I'd like some decent character models and animations. It would also be nice to get back to a single graphics option for all players so what one person sees isn't radically different than another as is the case with luclin/old models now.

We can only pray that they make them less memory intensive. It's kinda bad that they make the new (SoL) models look a hell of a lot better than the old ones but require so much damn memory that you have to turn them off durring any raid that has 40+ people in it. Whats the use of having all those nice looks if you really never want to use them because you slow to a crawl because of them.

The new models will have two versions that switch on the fly. When you approach an area that has many players, the graphics will switch into zerg mode and become stick figures.
