Looks nice on paper. I hope it turns out better than the last time they decided to mess with spell effects. I haven't turned them on since.

Spell effects now are a lot better than they used to be... faster, able to be tweaked for clip plane, opacity.. still unusable on a raid tho of course!

I noticed they're mostly on lower level spells. That's because by the time you get to the higher levels you've turned this stuff off!

The root one would be cool if the effect stayed until the root was cancelled, faded or broken.

Have to agree with Dregor, some of the spell effects are pretty nice currently. I turn them on frequently anymore in exp groups. Still degrade performance too much and cause too much screen clutter to use on raids though.

If they come up with a spiffy effect for Dragon Force then maybe I'll consider it!

I like the root effect. It looks obvious enough that I shouldn't have to announce which MoBs I've rooted. Great additions so far IMO.

You probably will anyway since not everyone will have effects on.

They need a new setting; spell effects off if more than 6 people in visual range :p

Nay, they need a wireframe mode for raids. Since they refuse to give us Illusion: Wisp, the next best thing would be to see the character models as wireframes to cut lag.

The ability to turn off other models would be nice. Do I need to see the other 45 people standing around me? Not usually.
