This movie was definitely amazing.

I was expecting total crap of a movie walking in, but from previews to the ending credits -- everything was just awesome.

Had Lee Ermy (Full Metal Jacket, Saving Silverman) who was DAMN funny as the sheriff of the boony Texas town. He was a pleasant suprise

It seems that once the killing started, it didnt stop. Pretty gory stuff, not overdone but enough to look good.

I would like to see this movie again and again farking super flick.

but hey thats just me.. 8)

Every review I've read said it sucked. I'll take their word for it!

I don't think any horror movie gets good reviews.

Movie reviewers are fucking morons. They think that all movies should be Oscar calliber, otherwise they are junk. This movie for instance. I don't care how different it is from the original or if the remake massacres the original movie, I can still sit down and judge a movie on it's OWN for what it is. Most of the reviews I read on it were from dumb asses that were pissed off at the differences from the original or how the remake completely ignores the message of the original. Who gives a crap. If I want to see the original I'll see it. Who cares if it bites some aspect of the Blair Witch movie. Hell, I think I rather see a good movie even if it copies something from another movie, than a completely original piece of shit :) Simply put, this movie for what it is, is enjoyable. Guess it's why it pulled in almost 30 million to knock out Kill Bill from the number one slot.

Lots of money = lots of people going to see the movie.

Lots of money != lots of reviewers going to see the movie.

Someone else's opinion shouldn't rule your own viewing habits.

It should when I don't like horror movies to begin with. Although even if they said it was a MUST SEE MOVIE I still wouldn't be swayed.

Previews are a pretty good indication of how good a movie will be in general. When I saw the preview at the theater for this one it didn't even rate a freebie download off the net.

I'm not big on horror movies but somehow managed to see Freddy vs Jason! If this was Texas Chainsaw Peeps vs The Ice Pick guy from I Know What You Did Last Summer, I think it would have been more intriguing!

Saw it last night. This is quite simply the most disturbing movie ever made. I read reviews that this movie was drowned out by loud music throughout the whole thing. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The direction was great, the lighting was magnificent, and the story was plain chilling. No it is not as good as the first one, but still a movie worth watching nonetheless.

Thanks for proving my point. You're not letting critic's opinions decide whether you're going to see a movie. My point / suggestion exactly.

Actually, you missed my point. I don't like horror movies so more than likely wouldn't go to any regardless of the reviews.

For other movies I know nothing about I usually check a few reviews.

The exact reason I rarely go to the theater anymore. Not just kids, but people in general that act like total fucktards and can't seem to comprehend the fact that they've just paid to watch a movie. Not talk on the phone. Not play with their cell phone ringers. Not player with their laser pointers. Not talk to the person they went with. Not carry their 2 month old baby into "Slaughtershop Porn VII" so they'll cry through the whole thing.

Last time I actually hit another human in anger was in a movie theater. Thwap upside the back of the head of some highschool bitch punk that thought going through all his cell phone's possible ring tones was cool. I got more applause than the movie did. Go me, Go me. Would had another incident but the girl I'm seeing blew her top before I did and gave a rendition of bitching that would have made Furor blush. Go her, Go her.

I rarely get distractions when I go. When I saw that movie was the first time I heard a cell phone go off. That was the same person who was next to me.

saw it last night..cool flick. I found a lot of stuff sort of predictable but it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. I had this rather flamboyent guy sitting next to me during the movie saying things like 'a meat hook?!!? who does that really!" and "Omg!? he's still out there!?!?" so i was getting a nice doce of comedy and scary at the same time which i think killed the whole vibe of the movie for me. :/
