Dusty Baker, not the fan, lost the series. Why on earth he continues (I dealt with this for years in SF) to leave pitchers in FAR too long without having a pitcher up just in case is beyond me. And pitching to Gonzales instead of walking him to get to Beckett was flat out STUPID, he's a great "players manager" and attracts talent, but he should be put in a freakin box during the big game.

Hopefully themselves. Wood bailed them out of that early 3-0 hole with his 2 run home run, but then got himself into another with the two walks. >< Nobody to blame but themselves, this time.

'Maybe next year' will be heard all around Chicago for the 95th year in a row.... *sigh*.

Shh, you hear that screaming? It's the sound of Fox execs leaping out of their windows.

I wonder how much licensing was already done to get the rights to show old cubs footage. They probably already had the "story of inspiration" already filmed.

Dusty Baker is not a good postseason manager. He blew the World Series last year up 3-2.

He blew this series up 3-1.

Prior was left in too long in Game 2(?), and he ran out of gas in game 6.

And Baker didnt have anybody up when he should have.

Wood and Prior were worked too hard in the regular season, and they ran out of gas last night. Now in fairness, the Cubs had to really lay it out there to even be playing in October, but i imagine there were many opportunities that they could have gotten Wood and Prior a bit more rest, and thrown 20 less pitches here and there.

Plain and simple, this is the biggest choke job i've seen in quite awhile.

Well since the 1996 World Series when the Braves were up 2-0 and then lost 4 in a row.
Fuck Jim Leyritz and his demon spawn forever.

edit: the Marlins are also a great team too.

they are extremely well managed and they do not give up ever.

I agree, I really enjoyed watching Florida play. Nobody, I mean nobody, save for Florida fans wanted them to win their series. At least some people want the Yankees to get past boston. Now we'll see if Rog can hold it together for this one.
