Silly as it sounds, better watch out for Washington, I think.
They still have one of the highest paid teams in the NFL I believe, and now they have a real coach. Spurrier will lead the 'Skins to victory!
I'm hoping Green Bay does, though. But not holding my breath!

Two words: Donovan McNabb. This kid is a fucking wet-dream for any fantasy league. Even when his team loses, he still puts up sick numbers.
For running back, I'd look very seriously at Stephen Davis. He may not have the big name like Ricky Williams, but he's got a good O-line to run behind, and don't think that Spurrier won't find a way to get him the ball. Best part is he's usually avaliable much later than most big-ticket rushers.
WR is a more tricky spot. "Does Randy want to play this week?" is not a game I like to play, so I'll never spend an early pick on him, despite his potential upside. Keyshawn is surrounded by 2 proven vets in Tampa, but Grueden seems to have a bug up his ass regarding Rob Johnson, so I'm wary of them. Ed McCaffrey is coming off a big injury. The Redskins receivers are mostly old Florida guys who put up awesome numbers in college, and now they have the HBC back at the wheel.

Actually I was thinking the opposite about Stephan Davis. Mainly because where most teams use the run to set up the pass, Spurrier uses the pass to set up the pass. I was looking at their receivers actually.
That brings up another topic. Football would benefit from coaches like Spurrier who like to run the score up. I think that is what should happen with Football. Run scores up and make them even more exciting than they already are.
Baseball is about to go on strike and it is all about money. I think they would make more money if those pansies would play in the rain. They need to create some new rules to make the game more fun to watch. Make the damn thing a Contact Sport.

I would think Marshall Faulk would be #1 in every league in america.
I am going with Rams and Steelers in the superbowl this year. Hurts me to say that, cause I live in New Orleans and I love my Saints.

Bubba, do not think that Spurrier is so cocky as to not use a 1200 yard rusher when a team is showing double-zone or nickle packages. Davis is gonna have a great year with a SHITLOAD of touchdowns. If you look back to the year when Steve won the national title, Fred Taylor caught a lot of TD passes, even though he didn't have any 200 yard games.
EDIT: My first post ASSUMED that Faulk would be the first overall player taken. If Faulk is available at any point after the first pick is taken, you are playing in a gimp league.

Greise is one of my top QB prospects for this fantasy season.
The Broncos last year were severely lacking offensive weapons. Without McCaffrey, Greise really had noone to throw to. Had Shannon Sharpe been there last season, you can bet your ass that Brian would have had another 2000 yard year.
EDIT: Almost forgot the triplets in Indianoplace! Peyton, Edgerrin, and Marvin are all top competitors at their respective positions.

There was and always will be only one set of triplets and they were
Aikman
Smith
Irvine
Nuff said and The Cowboys always have been my team but it looks like another LOOOOONG season. /fuck
Anyway I like the Rams for the Bowl. I do hope though that the Raiders surprise everyone and kick ass this year!

Still dominating my fantasy baseball league with 4 days left to go.
We had a football draft party this saturday and did a live draft, instead of the auto select one. Was a blast. 3 hours, friends, alchohol, food, and more shit talk than you know what to do with.
I did a good bit of mixing it up for my team this year. Personally, I think that's important. Nothing sucks more than losing a matchup because you dominately picked one team, and they had a bye week.
edit, P.S. Hammer, I'm from dallas, and I hate the cowboys. hi

The Cowboys deserve every ounce of shit that they suck. Firing a coach who built a team that won THREE rings (Switzer should not get credit for 96; his incompetence is legend) over 4 seasons is the most fucking stupid decision I've EVER seen. Jerry Jones, captain of the SS Hoover!

I see the Steelers in the Super Bowl. I also see Kordell getting hurt this year and them being QBed by Tommy Maddox. I believe he is the QB they have been looking for all this time. Has been sharp as hell in every game I have seen him throw a pass in. I see Antawn Randle El as being a beast and putting up some big numbers like Kordell did before he took over QB.
The Redskins will get owned. Pittsburgh already crushed their first stringers 17-0 and shut them down. Defenses will own them unless they get a Kurt Warner. For the NFC I see the Packers for some reason...they are just due. If Brett Farvuruh will stop doing stupid things and just not force shit they will own that league.

I think this year, like the previous 2 years, will be full of surprises. I can't stand Tom Snyder (washington's owner) because he is a complete dipshit. Talking a coach into starting Jeff George is the most idiotic thing he's ever done.
I have a strong suspicion that Seattle is going to be very tough this year. I pick them for the bowl. My team is Tampa but hey, they always have the potential and blow it sometime towards the end.
From the AFC I just don't really know. I want to say Indi, but they have a tough division, with the exception of the Texans.
I don't even know what pick I have for my draft. Here's some top picks I'm looking at.
RB - Marshall Faulk, Ricky Williams, Shaun Alexander, Curtis Martin
QB - Farve, Warner, Brady, Griese
WR - Just too many too choose from. Freeman just signed with Phili though, so he might be a great choice.

Still basking in last year's run ... WTG Pats!
Too early to predict this year's Superb Owl winner (though I think TB will win it all next year - it will take a year to work out the bugs). If I had a gun to my head, I would predict Titans over the Eagles in the Super Bowl.
10 things I see in my crystal ball ...:
-Rams will choke, if not in the big game, then somewhere in the playoffs. I just dont see them winning this year.
-Tennesee will run away with their division, and at least go deep into the playoffs
-Tom Coughlin (sp) will finally get booted this year as coach of the Jaguars
-Texans: 6-10 on the year
-The perma-overated Dolphins will be at the bottom of the AFC east
-Bledsoe will throw for 4000+ yards this year
-Donovan McNabb: MVP
-Seattle will struggle in the NFC west: 6-10
-Terry Glenn will only play in 8 games this year, at most
-Redskins will average no more than 20 points a game this season

Ogbar, you do realize that 20 PPG would put the Redskins in the top half of the league, right?
The Titans have more worries than just the health of Eddie George. Their linemen on BOTH sides of the ball must show much improvement for them to make a run.
It pains me to say it, but the Fins and Ricky Williams are going to need this season just to really get to know each other. We'll see good things, but not a long post-season.

Well, I was at the Monday Night game and I was a little worried about how our (Packers) defense was getting manhandled by the Browns first string offense. Favre wasn't looking all that great in the first half either. I have faith though.
Terry Glenn was suited up but that was just for show. I really hope he gets to play on Friday. He rocks, on my Madden 2003 game.
The Bengals should be estatic over this realignment of the league. This means that they can't finish any lower than 4th in their division, a feat that they haven't been able to achieve since before 1998. They have come in 5th or 6th every year since then.
This realignment is awesome imho. It means that every team will play each other at least once every 4 years. So we still get to trounce the Buccs during winter sometime in our future.
Speaking of the Buccs, they have to be happy too because they are playing mostly southern, or warm weather, teams. They are 0-21 in games where the temp is below 40 degrees at kickoff.
If you didn't see it, I waved to you guys from the 30 yard line on the Browns side of the field, south end.

It puts them in the middle of the pack as I see it - ie, ordinary. There is so much hype about Spurrier's offence and their current pre-season run. I just think they will light it up some weeks, and be reduced to single digits other weeks. Overall, they wont suck, and they wont be great, they will just be ordinary.masteen wrote:Ogbar, you do realize that 20 PPG would put the Redskins in the top half of the league, right?
As for Tennesee, I just have a feeling about them, plus, I think Indy will struggle this year with Tony Dungee (though will be better in a year), the Texans wont be much of a factor, and Jacksonville will fall totally on thier face. It makes for an easy divisional run, and with one playoff win, you are deep into the playoffs.

I guess another thing that is helpful...(in fantasy leagues) is to not let my opinion as a fan affect who I pick.
Example, I really like the Packers, and will be cheering for them on sundays. But I didn't just blindly pick a bunch of packers for my team, etc.
Granted, most of us here are intelligent enough beings to realize this, but stupidity is contagious. And this is just in case anyone has temporarily come down with the moron bug?

That will go over about as well as if you based it on Missile Ismail

Watch for David Boston, that kid will put up HUGE numbers, Terell Owens and he may be the 2 most talented recievers in the league, you just dont hear about Boston cause he plays in the shithole that is Arizona. Edgerrin James would have been my pick at RB, despite his injury last year, he's ever bit as good as Faulk running and catching the football. Favre at QB to round out.

I am so glad that the Raiders are not in LA anymoreI think that is because LA doesn't have enough fans. Losing the Rams and the Raiders has to suck.

Cowboys all the way!!! Well, I can hope anyway. I'll keep my fingers crossed for my team. Hammer, it won't be that long of a season.
First, no Monday night games this year, so we don't have to hit mute to get through the worst color commentary in broadcast history.
Second, Smith will break Payton's record this year.
I would also not put Dallas out to pasture so soon. The team is young again. The key missing part right now is a QB, and yeah, that is a huge whole, but we'll see. Good O line and a still remaining solid defense. Add that to the fact that our division is weak, I think we have a shot at the playoffs.

Nothing wrong with wishing Emmitt Smith well, he's one of the most humble and nicest guys in the league, I think. I lived in Dallas and for the most part hated the Cowboys, but I really did like Smith and Aikman. Both of them do a lot of good things.

Cane I remember that. It was badass.
He threw the table, came over and smacked him, and then tossed a chair.
I wish I had it saved as a clip or something so we could share with everyone
And for the record Chris Everett was a female tennis player.
But I will always call him Chris from now on.
edit, WHAT THE FUCK. Some kind of brain fart made me not type every second word I was trying to say. Somone is pulling wires in me head.
