Who will survive the winter?

Post by Fesuni Chopsui »

The death toll as of May:

Gregory Peck
Barry Whyte
Charles Bronson
Johnny Cash
John Ritter
Katherine Hepburn
Buddy Hackett
Bob Hope
Gregory Hines

There is something odd here...but I'm wondering if more are to go over the winter? It's been a tragic summer to say the least

If God is merciful, it will be Carrot Top, Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, Michael Bolton, every contestant from American Idol, the guy who came up with the Verizon commercials, John Madden, and any 2 members of N'Sync.

If I had to take a stab, I'd peg James Doohan as the next original cast member of Star Trek to die.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/news/02050803.shtml
Actor James Doohan - Scotty in Star Trek: The Original Series, is recuperating at home, contrary to internet rumours which put him at death’s door.

Doohan was struck down by pneumonia last February, and had to be hospitalized, but has recently been allowed back home. He’s now recuperating and rehabilitating himself, according to his agent of thirty years, Steve Stevens.

Scotching rumours that the star had slipped into a coma, Stevens told the Zap2it website, "For an 82-year-old man who spent 13 weeks in bed recuperating from pneumonia, he’s doing damn well."

Sadly, it has been confirmed that Doohan is suffering from other health problems, including diabetes and Parkinson’s disease.

"A lot of the stuff he’s going through now are a result of his injuries from World War II," said Stevens, referring to Doohan’s action in the D-Day landings.

Cult wishes him and his family all the best.

How did he get hurt on D-Day? He's not part of the landing team!
------------

I didn't know he saw action on D-Day. It's nice to hear those things about actors.

Doohan was a Royal Canadian Air Force Fighter Pilot during WWII; he lost the middle finger of his right hand in the war.

EDIT: More info

He left home at the age of 19 to join the Canadian Forces, fighting with the Allies in WWII. James became a Captain in the Royal Canadian Artillery and while leading his men into battle on D-Day he was wounded. The wounds eventually caused the loss of a finger and for the remainder of the war he became a pilot observer. He was lovingly known as “the Craziest pilot in the Canadian Air Forces.”

I thought Winnow was referring to the fact that he was never in the landing teams on Star Trek. You know...the one's with the obligatory security officer that "bit it."
