BCS Presidential Oversight Committee

Post by Jassun »

I know this was started in another thread, but I really feel this needs it's on thread for debate.

It's an article about the BCS Presidential Oversight Committee meetings that I feel is not completely unbias. Scott Cowen, President of Tulane and major spokes person against the current BCS bowl series, is only telling one side of the story.

Check out this article by a fellow Louisianian...

Money talks, as I'm sure Sensenbrenner knows, or he wouldn't keep getting elected. All else walks. Without it, politicians wouldn't get elected. Without it, members of the six major conferences couldn't afford to compete at such a high level.

Sure, the Tulanes of the world have a hard time getting to a national championship game and major bowl. Tell you what, James, it ain't no cakewalk for any given member of the six major conferences either.

One major thing most members of the Southeastern, Big 12, Atlantic Coast, Big 10, Pac-10 and Big East conferences and football independent Notre Dame do that members of other leagues don't do is play five or six games against teams that were, are or will be among the Top 25 teams in the nation. Not only do they have to play them and win, but, in some instances, then win a conference championship game to advance.
The statement below is true.
The statement above is false.

I don't think there really is a debate between fans when it comes to this. It is obvious, at least to me, that the reason bowl games and the bcs even exist is money. The schools want to be a part of it cause they get paid, the corporations want to be a part of it cause they get paid. The fans and in some instances the players get the big shaft.
I tell it like a true mackadelic.
