The battle is just beginnning.

Think about all the cultural stuff they'll have to work out.
What do you teach your kids in that situation?
Imagine being separated from your extended family by thousands of miles and potientally hostile borders.
Think about all the paperwork necessary to get immigration to the States authorized.

Whew, that's a lot of stuff to come to terms with.

Yea, the couple that got married last week had to get married with the cat in full military gear, flack jacket, m16 and all. Even worse than that, he is not allowed to visit her until they both get back to the states because he is not allowed to fraternize in a war zone. That's harsh, till you realize that the other guys and gals there in uniform with him are not allowed to see their spouses until they get home either, so that puts it back into perspective for me at least.

I would just like to state that these rules are not new. I was stationed in Germany 1983-1987 and had several friends that married in-country. They all had to jump through hoops to get approval for the marriage.
