This does indeed look fun. The demo was pretty intense, if a bit easy (but I did play it on Normal). I thought the funniest part was right off the bat as my squad moved out from the starting point an artillery shell launched one of my squad mates into the sky.
I might be picking this one up.

Finally had a chance to sit and give the Call of Duty demo some time.
Even though you have a squad, I'm not real sure what purpose they serve. It still feels like a FPS. Sure they move with you, and kill some of the enemies with you, but it's not like they really do anything. I personally think it would be awesome, if you could play through the missions, but all of your teammates could be multiplayer friends. That would make having a squad worthwhile in my opinion.
The other thing that struck me was that the graphics, though good looked a little odd at times almost a bit too cartoony, if you take my meaning. I got a good upclose look at the captain at the end of the mission, and the model had several noticable flaws. I think they'd do well to take all the textures and make them look a bit more gritty and dirty.
Overall, it's probably something I'll pick up, and it's definitely a demo worth checking out.

Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.
You think these models looked cartoony, check out the Jedi Academy demo...and the dialogue fucking stinks, too. I'm not a huge Raven fan, but I expected more.
You're right about the call of duty squad AI. They pretty much followed you around and took cover like anyone else, but that's about the extent of it. I wanted to figure out how to get my back to a wall and lean around like the other grunts were doing, but you can't.
I'm hoping the HL2 squad AI works like it seems to in the demos. That looked pretty cool.

Not much is known about the mutliplayer component, except for the fact that it will ship with one. So who knows, maybe its part of the package.Aranuil wrote:Finally had a chance to sit and give the Call of Duty demo some time.

Maybe not. But with games like HL2 and Doom3 comming out pushing the FPS genre in terms of graphics, gameplay..hell just about everything, Call For Duty just doesnt cut it for me.
Personally I want to see more games with co-op. Imagine playing MoH or CfD with an actual squad of team mates. That, to me, would be more fun then some AI comrades. WTF dont more companys make games that have a co-op mode? Pisses me off..
