Since Saturday there's been a huge gas shortage in Phoenix. A main pipeline burst between Tuscon and Phoenis that supplied 2.2 million gallons of gas a day to the valley.
Driving home Saturday, I wasn't aware of the problem and ws running close to empty..the first 2 stations were closed..the third had 1/3 of the pumps open. I put 10 gallons in because the price was like 2.10 (little did i know that 2 days later, prices would be $2.47-$3.00+ a gallon)...I didn't realize that there was almost no gas in the valley.
Since then it's gotten worse. Monday, on my way to work, I passed 5 gas stations. All were completely out of gas. On my way home, I passed my local gas station near my home and there was a line wrapped around the block waiting for gas. This morning, the gas station was empty again.
Today at lunch, I was eating at a fast food place and watched a tanker pull up to an Arco. The cars swarmed the station...it only took a few minutes for cars to be lined up way down the street.
It's scary to think how short our supply of gas is. There are gas trucks running around the clock trying to get gas to Phoenix. 90 percent of the stations are closed and the rest are several hour waits. My boss went to get gas at 3am last night and still waited an hour.
Here's a story on the situation. It's not national news but it really should be. It's a glimpse at what could happen again if there was a national gas shortage. It's ugly. I've got a half tank of gas and they think this might go on for several weeks. Lame!

Kyoukan why does every thread you reply to have the blatant hatred of the USA splashed all over it? You ask Cartalas why he posts the way he does and yet you are just as predictable.
BTW Winnow I would have taken some extra tanks with me and become the local gas Baron. Or at least have gas for the next 3 weeks
