Yeah I like a lot of old movies
I liked Ben Hur too, that's another 3+ hour one

I like the whole ancient greek/roman/persian/chinese/japanese era
It's probably the whole mythical aspect to it, that and half naked men lol

The Seven Samurai
Natural Born Killers (if not 3 hours, close) EDIT: 182 minutes
Meet Joe Black

probably will edit in a few more as I think of them.

Several of the ones already mentioned would make my list as well..

The only movie I can think of that hasn't been mentioned here is Dune (extended version)...

the movie IT was more pretentious than a 14 year olds livejournal..arg they all float down here!!

first time i viewed it was at a horror movie fest with some friends..we all wanted to turn it off but the plot was just interesting enough to keep it running..It sucked :p

IT was one of the scariest goddamn books I ever read. It was just too long and too graphic to make it that great on the small screen, but I still was entertained by it.

Ack. I meant to include that originally. Thanks. I'll add that one to list. I think Keven Costner is a pretty dull actor but I enjoyed Dances with Wolves.l

--------------------
As for Dune (extended version and all other extended versions of movies...im not sure they qualify..im thinking of 3 hour movies that were in theaters)

Screw you, Winnow. The Dino DeLaurentis version of Dune was in theaters and fetures a score by Toto, iirc. It is one of the greatest movies of all times and it more than qualifies!

It wasn't 3+ hours tho.

However, it was a good movie. I haven't seen it in probably 3 years, and in that time I've watched the Sci-Fi channel's remakes. As of now, I'd have to side with the Sci-Fi channel in terms of telling the best story, however, the inner monologues of the Dd'L version were the pwn.

:!: :!: :!:

I've seen Dune/Extended Dune like 10 times. It's a great movie IMO.

Extended version is 190 mins....ok I'll add it!

I would say IT and The Stand both qualify. Albeit, not epic on the screen, both attempts were very well done foe the media(TV).

Gonna go with Dregor on Band of Brothers--that was just fucking unreal. I want to buy then set eventually. $$$ but worth it! :D

Agree 100%. Talk about a book ya can't put down.

Wait until they try to adapt the Gunslinger series into movies.. Assuming he lives long enough to finish them. *sigh*

Gangbangs of New York = teh suck.
