Rant: A lot = TWO WORDS!

I was recently perusing the Current Events forum, when I noticed that several people are still spelling 'A LOT' as one word. Given that the filter, for 'A LOT' has been in place for over 2 months now, and that it clearly indicates that your misspelling makes you a retard, I find myself just in awe of the inability of some posters here to learn. The true irony in all of this is that these very same posters are lashing out at others calling them names etc. while making this mistake in their posts. I truly believe that some of your brains have just completely shut down, as you're unable to improve upon yourselves in any way, even after constant ridicule.

In summary, 'A LOT' = two words, not one. Next month we'll work on the differences between YOUR and YOU'RE (advance hint: YOU'RE = YOU ARE), and ITS and IT'S (advance hint #2: IT'S = IT IS). I honestly doubt that the half of you that continue to get A LOT wrong will ever understand It's/You're, as there is unfortunately no way for the moderators to put in a filter for that.

There oblivious to the help that other people try to give them, its like they dont even here it. Listen people, if your going to be posting on this board, make sure you're words are spelled correctly. If you right a sentence, make sure it's grammer is correct. If they're is won thing that really bothers me, its when some looser is practically illiterate.

My god that was difficult to write. Each and every misspell and grammatical error in that passage was intentional. Particularly "looser", that one bothers me to no end.

Come on now! Yes, they're some posts on this board that are pretty fucked up to read. There is a big difference between those, and ones with a few gramatical errors & misspells which only an anal-ass tightwad would get their panties in a bunch about!

Sorry, I have to side with the "anal-ass tightwad" camp on this one. My folks brought me up to try and speak intelligently, and there is little that annoys me more than someone who consistently uses bad grammar. I know I'm not perfect (actually I'm just saying that, I think otherwise

) and that I have the ability to make mistakes myself, but it really bugs me when someone just won't learn. Particularly when we have a filter that inserts a long string of garbage when you misspell certain words. FFS, all you have to do is hit preview and then read through your message one time before hitting submit, it's not very difficult.

When that was a problem for me, I'd edit in notepad or word, then just Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V and click submit.

Please understand however that this thread wasn't about spelling or grammar, but more specifically about two words that have had a filter in for over two months that people are still spelling wrong. I'm convinced that anyone still spelling it wrong is just stupid.

I realize this, Melrin. If I lived in fear of looking like a jackass, I'd probably have one quarter the posts I have here, and I would have missed out on a lot of opportunities here and in life in general. I don't worry about that, and I certainly don't allow it to dictate my conduct.

I also wanna add that this thread is about a very specific, very loudly filtered fuckup.

I don't nail everyone for every little error either. It's not like I'm following up every post with an edit. C'mon, lets be real here, I only point out grammar or spelling when I'm flaming someone. I don't like follow up every post with an error with a fucking edit or comment.

There is a big difference between people who make little spelling/grammer mistakes when they are in a hurry, or half asleep, or drunk as a skunk, etc... and those people who CONSISTENTLY fuck up the English language in every single post they make.
