Guess the new LDoN Zones

No holds barred discussion. Someone train you and steal your rare spawn? Let everyone know all about it! (Not for the faint of heart!)

Guess the new LDoN Zones

Post by Fairweather Pure »

Well, there will be a total of 5 new zone types in LDoN and the only real information we have is that they will be based upon old school dungeons, and that they will be accessed only through the original Everquest.

1) Deepest Guk----has been announced

2) Rujarkian Hills (Sol C?)-----Hinted at in the next patch. Also, there are is the goblin graphic on the start-up screen. Just found a link too http://www.gamespy.com/interviews/july03/ldon2/

3) Everfrost----Just a guess. They'll want a winter theme, and Everfrost has some good memories for many people ;)

4) Befallen/Mistmoore/Unrest----They'll want an undead type dungeon and any of these will fit the bill. I tend to lean towads Mistmoore.

5) I kinda ran out of ideas here. I'm stuck with Runny Eye or possibly a CT spin off.

Anyone else have any ideas or predictions?

Btw, 48 zones is rather impressive indeed. I especially appreciate this response from the above link:
These zones (and there are more than 40 in this expansion) are anywhere from one half to three fourths the size of an average EverQuest zone. The physical space for this expansion is as big (or bigger) than any we've made to date. And none of that space is empty open grassland, it's all dungeons -- all content. In terms of content, I think this is the most ambitious expansion we've come up with to date. That extra effort will be obvious to the players once they experience LDoN.

Call me Sherly but 5 different zones multiplied by 8 versions of each doesnt sound like 40 new zones. Replacing a door in version A with a wall in version B doesnt sound like that much staggering content. In other words, Gukc versions 1 through 8 are still Gukc.

It could be a fun expansion but id call it an extension rather than expansion.

The only thing that really bugs me about this expansion is the 5 themes spread over 40+ dungeons. How many versions of guk do we really need?

As far as the remaining themes go

-a mistmoore theme would seem logical
-a goblin one like runnyeye is probable from the launch screen
-a desert tomb ala Befallen
-a jungle themed one like CT

There's enough snow in the game already w/ velious :P

Haven't they all ready announced The Tomb of Mistmoore and Miragul's Menagerie (attached to mistmoore and everfrost respectively)?

Or did I dream it. . ?

Mistmoore would be a great idea. His involvement in the Kunark story line was never properly resolved.

And by properly resolved i mean, we never killed him and TOOK HIS FUCKING LOOTS!!!!

Hehe...I remember all of the rumors about Mr. Mistmoore, regarding where he spawned, and how to make him spawn. Shyness once fed me some story that she knew how to do it. I think I fell for it at the time!

btw, "loots" should be spelt "Lewtz" in that particular context!

Ill Omen

Post by Claritin-CT »

Under Lake of Ill Omen where the Goblin Maurader spawns that drops a part to the VP key was supposed to be a goblin city called "Veskar."

Veskar will be in Lost Dungeons of Norrath... I'd put 20 VV's on it.

Claritin hasn't been in the EQ loop since he quit in feburary, he had stopped reading message boards and everything....

Had they not added Veksar already it would have been a good guess hehe.

Oh they were good but I don't think they were a patch on a good Mistmoore train. Especially if it included the Negotiator for extra charm fun. I stood invis at MM zone once watching 40 mobs huddled around a poor charmed dorf. The mobs would start drifting back, then charm would drop giving 40 aggro messages then the many-arms-of-vishnu clump would swarm the little dorf again while he was recharmed.
It was a most interesting few minutes.
