Where did you get your name?
Kaelin SpiritStorm I got from a name generator which I then tweaked a bit, last name just sounded right lol
Fesuni was inspired by a ranger named Fsun from Sceptered Isle, I added an e and then an i and bam...Chopsui my friend gave me as a last name because I couldn't think of one...
How about you?

Hmm... I think when I typed Ebumar it was originally a randomly genorated name of Ebumen. Since it sounded really gay (and I didn't know any better, that you could click the generator more than once), I changed it up a bit. After that it's been a bunch of spin-off's of Ebumar, like Ebunar, Ebukar, and Ebujar. Stuff like that. Now though, it's all stuff from books~

Damiarch was one of the first online names I've had. Had it since Starcraft days. Think it was the name a carrier guy, I loved building carriers. My first char was a mage named Damiarch. Then my friends convinced me to make a cleric. Instead of rerolling Damiarch. I kept him and made my cleric with a different name...Digimortal...got that name from an Album name by a death metal band called Fear Factory. I was looking around the room for a name and saw that CD. I then got rid of the mage and rerolled him as a bard later.
I wish I would have just deleted the mage and made Damiarch my cleric since that is my favorite online name, and stupid people that don't know about Fear Factory talking about that stupid show Digimon to me all the fucking time.

Well...
I used to go by 'Kefka' in Quake...as I thought it was not a common name...turns out like 50 people had it hah. So then I decided I needed a new name, and proceeded to type some random letters on the keyboard. After about 3 tries, I came up with Lohrno, and it sounded cool enough to use for the rest of my days.

Most of my names are short and easy to remember (and spell).... like Miir and Effie.
Oceanus was my attempt at a roleplay name. Erudite pala worshipping Prexus (ocean lord).
My names in AO were mostly all numbers (spelled out).
I really fucking hate names that are misspellings of 'popular' names... like Arragorn/Aarraagornn or Legollas/Leagolas/Llegolaz.

Had a troll SK named Redd Claw in beta, so in retail I decided I would change it to Crimson Claw, but Crimson was taken already (only 12 minutes after servers came up for first time, damn that guy was fast). So, tried Krimson with the *K*, generator took it, then I decided that the K was probably better anyway.
I've been using Llaffer for a computer handle for years before playing EQ.
Initially was the name "Larry Laffer" from the Leisure Suit Larry games back in the 80s, but I needed a "8-characters maximum" version of it for many log-ins back in the BBS world. So I made it Llaffer, and I've been using it ever since.
I must have been using that now for at least 8 years.

i think generator gave me, Denabe, or somethin like that, so i tweaked it, then when i was 32 in OT playing at like 6am some guy from new zealand said my name meant, "from snow" in some native language there, /shrug, works for me, though i cannot think of a good surname unless a GM will give me "Deneve teh Gimp"

Valkeria comes from Valkyries (sp) the ones in mythology (am too tired right now to go into full detail) Oh yeah my mages name is Kyla spelled backwards with a at the end cause it looked better than Alyk (named after a good friend of mine who I played D&D with and who is deceased )

I used to play a shitload of DnD a while back with friends, and in the Planescape Campaign Setting, there's an npc faction leader known as Duke Rowan Darkwood, who was a rng/clr - I figured the name sounded kinda cool for a ranger, so I actually had my surname first, and just sat around on EQ thinking of a good ranger name to go with Darkwood. Drinsic sounded good, so viola~ Drinsic Darkwood. I usually try to shoot for roleplay names, screwed around with gimps early in EQ, had a barb war named Rathgar Felhammer, a dwarf cleric named Ganrithor Mithrilweaver, etc.
One of the best songs evah. Love it.I used song titles back in the bbs days...then not too terribly long before Quake 1 came out, I picked Truant from the song "Immortality' by Pearl Jam.
Spent about 2 days working with scrabble tiles for my name. Wanted something short that sounded elvish. Later I found out that it was also the name of one of the generals in a game called "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" on original nintendo. My last name "Atishbazi" is persian for plays with fire.
I tell it like a true mackadelic.

Tyek
Tyek is from the Dune Book Series. Full name was Tyekanik or someting like that, but changed to Tyek to make it easier for in game tells, and his last name "Blackcoat" is a old Scottish term for Cleric.
When I was younger, I used to think that the world was doing it to me and that the world owes me some thing…When you're a teeny bopper, that's what you think. I'm 40 now, I don't think that anymore, because I found out it doesn't f--king work. One has to go through that. For the people who even bother to go through that, most assholes just accept what it is anyway and get on with it." - John Lennon

Original full name , Phuggintrent. Never got rejected , so I used it till I was about 12 , then a nice lil Head gm saw that and said , " Hey thats a little long aint it , and a tad on the bad side, you want it shortened ?"
so being the n00b I was I said sure. Poof Phugg was reborn ... then it took forever to try to think of a good surname. Getting up from the desk one day I stubbed my toe , guesse what words came out of my mouth ....
Fucking aye ... so just a play on words , and Phugg Innay was done. .... although the story doesnt end there , name was ganked a few times while running through SK , wait a week re-do /surname and poof I would have it back , with minor alterations in the Innay spelling.

First character ever was named Fremen, taken from Dune.
Next up was Fairweather. I wanted something kinda nature-ish that was easy to remember and type. In a group setting, everyone just calls me Fair, which is a nice touch. It was very much a RP name.
Anyway, I tried several names that wouldn't take, and eventually I happened to look over at my CD collection where Hootie and the Blowfish's "Fairweather Johnson" happened to be on top of my "to sell" stack.
The rest was history.
I don't use the Fairweather name for any other game. JimmyPopAli or SatanicSalami are usually used instead.

God I Loved those old Sierra games nothing like a 30 1.4 Meg Floppy install.
Burke Highbinder
I knew I was making a paladin, so I wanted an ironic name, even if only I got the joke, which turned out the be the case.
Burke- means to suppress quietly or indiscreetly. But the word comes from William Burke an Irish criminal who smothered his victims to sell their bodies for dissection
Highbinder-a professional killer operating in the Chinese quarter of an American city, or, a corrupt politician
So there you have it a noble holy paladin whose name is synonymous with EVIL muwhahahaha
er hehe?

My druid is a small tribute to the great film composer Ennio Morricone
So was my erudite chanter named Halley Berrey, till they yanked her surname, I got it back now. These two were my first attempts at making cute, name policy breaking, names.
Nowadays I don't care for surnames anymore, I'm running around with first names only filter turned on for lag reducing purposes.

Xagyg was the name o f a MUD character I had back in the early 90s. I was feeling particularly uninspired when I made it, and didn't really expect to play it for long (ended up playing for 4+ years). I've since used the name regularly as a handle or character name in most online games I've played.
Truunka was named for a shadow knight (Kruunka) that I played around with at the time. That name came from name generator basically. I added an extra U, and removed a character from the end of the name (Z i think, but I'm not sure anymore hehe).

Hmm I named my first character Irulene, I was trying for Irulan from Dune, but it didn't take so I played with the name some. My second main character was named Raederle, which I took from the Riddlemaster of Hed series. Third character was Jesalynn, which I named after my 2 year old niece, then Rayzelle was a play off of Gizelle the model.

Xouqoa was the result of throwing a bunch of letters together back in my BBS days when I needed an empire name for SRE.
Aedari was a name created from two friends names. (Aericura and Modari) ... viola, Aedari! Apparently it also is in the random name list because I have seen other Aedari's.

Oh and my enchanter was named after a soda can on my desk. Citra last name Brooke because all Brookes are hot...and a brook is also like a stream so it made a weird kind of sense.
I just couldn't get any decent names past the filter...and no I wasn't trying "suckmydik" or "Ilikpusa"
We all ended up Dangermouse because Scrimps took the name we think from a cartoon about a mouse spy...but he was too young to remember it. Strut (aka Zergs) and Scrimpy copied off him.
When Doughboy was removed as my last name I adopted it, and then after some thought I gave it to citra too...Claritin/Pepto followed suit so all the brothers would have the same last name.
And Since noone is guessing where my name came from...Pilsburry was named after a short fat pale character used to sell muffins....I originally planed to bake muffins to hand to my group but it was too much of a hassle...dwarfs are short fat and pale also. It seemed like a perfect fit.

Jassun - a variation of my IRL first name that no one on any server was using at the time.
Jamine - as close to Janine as I could get. Janine W, that is.
Vlade - as close to Vlad as I could get. What better name could you have for a DE Necro than the real man behind the vampire myth?
Modak - from a song. Only one person ever recognized it. Anyone else know?

Drustwyn comes from the Song of Albion trilogy by Steven Lawhead.. he was a member of the "Ravens" which was basically a warrior clan. I wanted to be named Tegid sooOOOo bad.. but someone already had it
.
Kashi is a health cereal that my mom always would eat when she was trying to diet. It looked like crap and tasted worse... I figured it was a perfect name for an Ogre.

In my science class we had to do a connect the dots type thing with a constilation - i connected them and made a dragon out of them and eventually came up with the name Draax (sounds like Drakes). THen after my friends conviced me to play EQ i tried to do Draax but it was taken so its now Draaxx (sounds like Dracks)
