I need a new video game!

Post by Zamtuk »

Going for pc since all my consoles are in storage back near school. Give me any/all games that are pretty current that are great. I am getting WC3X but I am going on vacation like the day after it comes out. So I will need something until then to pass my time. Any input is appreciated.

PS: No racing/sports games or any other games that are for consoles.

Neverwinter nights + Shadows of Udrentide ( add on that is coming out on the 24th of june ). If you liked Baldur's gate or Icewind Dale, you will love this. You don't get to run a whole team of 6, but only Your character and a helper ( and eventual summoned creatures and familiars ).
It's pretty lengthy, the game system is very good ( based on 3rd edition D&D ), graphs are ok and it's downright fun. Much <3 for the game.

Looking forward to the NWN expansion, it looks really good.....

If you don't have it yet Pick up C&C Generals, this is one of the best games i've played in a while.

I agree with Generals, and suggest you get Age of Mythology if you haven't picked that up yet.

Vice City just came out for PC as well. So if you don't have that on one of your consoles, hook it up.

Overall, there really hasen't been too many games to look foward to on PC for awhile. After WC3x, I don't have another "must have" until WoW, which is still a long way off.

I didn't care at all for C&C: Generals. Too simplistic, I thought. I really like Age of Mythology, and Rise of Nations is another good RTS game if you like those sorts.

GTA: Vice City is much fun as well!

I beat Vice City like a week after it came out for ps2. I was thinking about C&C Generals, but I don't know if I can return to C&C after the Tiberium Sun bomb. I have heard mixed things about NVW, but have heard the expansion is amazing, so I may have to go with that. I had the demo to AoM and thought it was cool, but I got enough play from the demo.

Generals is OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS different (and better) than TS. I think you'd like it. It's simple to play and difficult to master, just like any good RTS game. I hope they make an expansion for it soon. The graphics are fun too. It's just a fun game.

Yeah Generals is a really good RTS. They basically took all the cool shit that worked in C&C classic and Red Alert and put them into Generals with a pretty cool 3D engine.

The only thing its missing is cheesey westwood cut scenes. I don't care what you think I loved the cutscenes in the C&C/Red Alert games. Well the ones in Tiberium Sun weren't that great becasue they took them too seriously.

Generals is like the opposite. There is NO STORY AT ALL. Every mission just starts with an in game cut scene and a brief briefing (hah) that is like "omg teh chinese are attaking are base omg kills them all!"

A game that I got recently that was quite a bit of fun was Indiana Jones and the Emporer's Tomb. The animations I thought were quite well done in keeping with the spirit of the movies. Not rocket science or anything certainly, but a fun diversion.

too bad you outlawed consoles cause nba street 2 is the sheezay.

anybody here who liked hitman codename:47 and has played the sequel?
waiting for the prices to fall but looking forward to it!

might wanna try out hitman 2 if you're into garroting people and otherwise making a mess for the hotel cleaning staff.

Age of Mythology can still be fun, even if you've played it a lot...*shrug*

And yeah, too bad you ruled out consoles 'cause Brute Force for X-Box is a hell of a lot of fun.

Well, I have a list of games to get, when I get back to school. By then Madden 2004 will be out, and my life will be over for the remainder of winter and most of spring. :)
