I was wondering if your avatar was Liz, I guess that settles it. I heard her new stuff is more pop than her older stuff, when she was trying to maintain her indie credibility. I'll probably give it a listen regardless, I was a fan back in the day.

Lyrically, she's as sharp as ever.
The first single does sound really 'pop' but listening to the teaser of the new album, it sounds pretty typical for her... which is a good thing.
I still listen to Exile in Guyville and Whip Smart quite often.

I picked this up today at Target ($9.98!) and it's pretty good so far. Haven't yet listened all the way through but I don't anticipate there being anything I absolutely hate.

Yeah.. H.W.C. is... interesting! I had to do a double take when that song came (punny) on to make sure that I was hearing her correctly!
I think the pop-factor comes from the fact that 'The Matrix' produced half/most of the album, they also did like Avril Lavinge and... probly some others.
